"You are the last of your kind: bred for combat, built for war. You're the master of any weapon, pilot of any vehicle, and fear no enemy"

I've been her for almost 2 months, and I'm already missing my crappy middle-class apartment. It's starting to get really cold and it was 50 degrees last night. It's awful.

Also, I've tried lifting.

You just get on with it. It should pass eventually

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

Think about all the awful things back home, and all the good things about where you are now.

Also, I've tried lifting.

Have you tried lifting more?

Call home, it will kill the anxiety, and if you're lucky, you're mom, or dad will annoy you on the phone, and you'll be all like, "damn, I'm glad I left!". You won't really mean it too much, but it'll make you feel better about your situation. Have a ham sandwich or something akin to that after.

He who cannot command himself should obey. And many can command themselves, but much is still lacking before they can obey themselves.

The best thing you can do is pre-occupy yourself.

I was deployed to Iraq for a full year. Whenever I had "alone" time, I'd get home sick and start thinking about how much I missed everyone. Once I started doing things, home never entered my mind. After a while, I came to terms with being away and didn't get home sick at all (unless it was the holidays).

It'll be a struggle for a bit. You have to pre-occupy your mind and do things that get you away from feeling sorry for yourself.

Don't do this. The more you call home, the more you'll think about it. Limit your calls home to once a week, or once every other week. I'd even go less, if you can.

Now's your chance to build a life for yourself and see what you're made of. Stop depending on your family and do it for yourself.

I can't call to often here. Yet I get unlimited internet access.
