A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

Now that I think about, Bungie could have easily said "Hey, we like Firefight the way it is in ODST, so why not have a playlist that resembles ODST almost perfectly in Reach?".

Instead we got FRG Fight and Rocket Fight all over matchmaking.
This. There was a very limited time period where one could play Firefight Linited; not everyone votes for the Arcade variants. Also, Reach's AI is INCREDIBLY cheap and overpowered. Elites don't ever need to reload, have melee bleedthrough and have a huge amount of shields, for one thing. ODST's Firefight had reasonable and fun enemies, although it did have Black Eye, so it wasn't better in every way. ODST is also the only Halo game that doesn't have an OP utility weapon like the BR or DMR, and the weapons were just better. No having to rely on a blooming DMR, and THERE WAS A SILENCED SMG WITH A -blam!- SCOPE.

Oh, and saying to just make a Reah custom game is obviously impractical and requires spamming invites.

The fact that Reach had a matchmaking system at all means it's already better than ODST. Now, for ODST, how else are you supposed to get a match without "spamming invites?"

ODST maps were great for firefight. Reach maps just felt like regular maps with firefight thrown in.

The one thing that Reach didn't have was maps that felt like a last stand. Think about it Crater was a small area which spawned enemies in the middle and back of the map forcing you to stay near spawn.

The safari map had enemies spawning everywhere around your little base which left your surrounded, and ONI base forced you to stay at the top of the hill.

Reach allowed you to move around and wasn't a last stand scenario, the only map that even came close was Break point (I think thats the map) which was a last stand in the campaign waiting for Halsey.

OMG
Master Chief w/o his Helmet!

Stosh <3's me vicariously... at least someone does...

I didn't really like either of them.

Amazing concept, ruined by the perpetual and mysterious "Campaign-Delay" that's haunted Halo and pretty much Halo alone for the last five years. Fix that, and it would be downright amazing.

Reach doesn't have MM for Limited, so it's on the same level. I realize Arcade Fight and ODST FF are two different gametypes, but there is no reliable way to get Limited on Reach, which is stooped, and saying I can just play Arcadefight isn't even a positive for people who liked ODST.

...There isn't really a way to get an ODST game going without spamming invites, which, besides the lag and Black Eye being manditory, is its main downside. However, limited settings in ODST combined with its superior weapons meant for a better experience, anyway. Endure also meant people were actually encouraged win, and spamming invites in ODST meant people were always going to play the lives mode. I just shouldn't have mentioned the spamming invites thing since it's an inherent problem for all the FF variants.
