Just curious, would like some opinions.
Many first person games use third person-cinematics. Some do it more frequently than others. Some third person games even use first person when they deem it fit.

Not just in cinematics.

Games like Left 4 dead 2 (which are in first person) would shove a player into third person when non-FPS friendly physical movements are taking place? Does this annoy people? Please tell me flood.

It does, but what I hate mostly is when people record videos with their phones and have it vertical and not horizontal -_- the most asinine thing I've ever seen.

I'm like, JUST TURN YOUR PHONE!

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

Yes. Yes. A thousand times, yes!!!

I fail to see what that phone thing has to do with camera perspective. I dont think you understand what I meant when I say camera.

dear god yes, jump cutting to a different angle of the exact same scene is absolutely pointless.

I think for the most part that cinematics should be in a third person perspective. One nice thing that games like ODST have done is that there is a transitioning stage where the cinematic switches from third person to first person before directly throwing you into the gameplay.
