Subject: Why is it that when NBC reports bias, nobody cares?

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

Though, people do seem to care. They just aren't as vocal as others. I mean, you made this thread and all.

It also has to do with how MSNBC shows its bias. They use focus, as opposed to outright making stuff up. Fox invented the Death Panels that were supposedly in Obamacare. MSNBC tends to focus on conservative failures and liberal successes.

Told ya ;)

But...you're insulting someone for basically giving a good point? People don't complain as much when NBC is biased because they don't pretend that they aren't.

What you're doing is basically this:

OP: Who is Luke Skywalker's Father?
You: "I bet someone people will say HURRRRRRR Darth Vader like retards."

Your example made me genuinely laugh.

And excuse me and this stupid typing, I meant no insult to those giving that reason, I'm just pointing out how stupid of an argument that is because it sounds childish and dumb. Relevant? Sure. But still childish sounding.

Basically, Person A and Person B are lying about the same thing, but lying about it in different ways. A says "Humans now have the ability to fly", while B says "Humans now have the ability to glide, and I don't lie."

They're both clearly lying, but people get upset more at B because he says he doesn't lie, when they both lied. The perception, then seems to be, that what A says is somewhat excusable (or lacking further scrutiny) because B saisd he doesn't lie but he did.

Fox takes clips out of context to suit their agenda quite often. Their commentators are lying panderers and people who don't watch any news are more informed than those who watch Fox.

This guy also does a good job of summing it up.

All TV news is biased and crappy anyway

This, and only this. I had a ex-girlfriend, and her mother was a 'news junkie' which is probably the worst kind of person you can be. You don't get informed in 80% of the stuff on network news, you're being entertained or given an opinion.

Just throwing this out there, 1200 people nationwide is NOT a very large sampling. And I find it hard to believe that the results from these studies of ONLY 1200 (1185 actually) people is accurate to the wide populace.

look up sample size in statistics. Elections are called on as few as 1500 people.

That first video perfectly sums up why people laugh at Fox News. They cut up videos and remove all context and then attack them using the cut up videos, knowing full well that the bit they cut off perfectly contradicts and destroys their own arguments.

Like the whole Portal 2 thing. They show Wheatley using "you're adopted" as in insult, but conveniently cut off the next bit which has Glados saying there is nothing wrong with being adopted.

The same could be said of liberals. I've dealt with them too, plenty simply ignore scientific evidence from reputable sources or statistics from the government simply because it contradicts with their ideas. People tend to believe what they believe, and not believe the evidence which comes from the opposing side.

That depends on who's doing the poll. If you think that's the standard, then you're horribly misinformed.
Charlie is actually pretty accurate.

Surprisingly, sample sizes as small as 1000 to 2000 are typically used for polls such as Presidential approval, whose margin of error is within a couple of percentage points.

Or you could actually use common sense and see how poorly conducted that study is.
Translation: you prefer to trust your own prejudices over actual evidence

I'd argue it's the exception when it comes to the left, and an epidemic when it comes to the right.
