lol

Nice counterargument.
It wasn't a counterargument, because you didn't provide an argument.

Just stop posting. You're wasting my time.
You're the one wasting your own time bro.

You literally did not provide an argument.

I've noticed socialists or people who advocate socialism think that it's good for the country. Why?
*cough*Canada!*cough*

Because a place where basic medical care has a long wait list is a good thing.
And a place where medical debt is an epidemic is better?

Do you think that capitalism works well as an economic system?

Yes.

That may be a problem - you see, the sheer amount of debt defaults, bank crashes, financial crises and ever increasing deficit and debt mountains imply that capitalism just isn't working; like every other economic system that has been tried before it.

When we have a useless area of economics/banking called "derivatives" which is "worth" in excess of $700tn (far larger than the actual global economy) then we know that something has gone terribly wrong - if the derivatives market were to spectacularly crash, then, well, the global economy would be effed.

  • 12.02.2012 3:52 PM PDT

Because markets produce undesirable outcomes and fail.

Canadian medicine is far inferior to the best offered by the US, but only if people can afford it. The waiting lines are so long in Canada many people die before they were even close to receiving a transplant. That's why many people go to the US from Canada, but also from around the world to get superior care their socialist-oritented nations do not provide.

This is only for life-saving stuff, the mundane stuff is easy to get.

I noticed you know nothing about healthcare in Canada. That's actually mostly false.

Wrong. You have to ration medical care just like everything else, or the quality will decrease dramatically. Look at Canada with their high taxes, and still manage to have a high waiting list because of their socialized healthcare system.

And a country where people can die from lack of health insurance or suffer for years because the companies are selfish -blam!-s is preferable? I know about Canada's doctor problem. It also has to do with the fact that they don't have enough doctors. I've been suffering for years because of our incompetent medical system and it ain't fun. But atleast they aren't telling you to -blam!- off if you can't pay them.

Mods don't like politics, sorry OP.

OT: It's the way they think will make their country work. Who are we to judge? We aren't perfect either.
Its not politics, its economics

People have to get decent insurance and pay for their health like everyone else, hence rationing. The healthcare here is phenomenal, and most likely you'll live if you're treated.

Until everyone has access to healthcare with little cost, the quality of the care means nothing

profiting from medical care is immoral

Tell that to any doctor who has spent 12 years in extra schooling and has a huge debt from college to pay off.

Keep looking like an idiot.

You said basic medical care. You've provided nothing to show long waits for that. I had to wait 2 days for surgery when I needed it. I actually don't know anyone that had to wait more than 2 weeks for it.

Notice that the longest wait times were 5 years ago? We still have longer average lifespans and more healthy years than the "superior" U.S. system.

I dunno, maybe this crazy thing called real-world examples where it works in other countries?

Because the US is like other countries. Not to mentioned in failed miserably in Europe. Hence the huge issues the EU is having. Pay attention.

"Profiting from medical care" means "forcing people to pay big money for a vital service"
