Wow, $45! How many hours did you spend researching all this? And as a follow up, do you honestly think it was worth it? You're not a hero or a rolemodel for doing this, you're just an assclown.
I spend about 2 hours in the whole process. which includes going to the police station to get the ticket and the dispatch records, and then the courthouse to have it signed. And then about 10 minutes of trainwrecking the police officer at the hearing today.
It was 100% worth it in my opinion. In my own opinion, this is a -blam!- attitude. Cops risk their lives to protect yours. 50 cops died in the tower collapses on 9/11. Thousands of cops have died trying to protect civilians' lives. In fact, even cops who aren't intentionally putting themselves in danger can be targets for deadly crimes JUST BECAUSE they are cops.
I don't get to park illegally because I don't put my life on the line every day to protect people I don't know. But if you ask me, any cop who wants to park in a yellow zone to get a soda from 7-11 is more than welcome to do so without me being an -blam!- about it.
You don't get to park illegally even if you put your life on the line every day.
If I can't use 9/11 or my colleagues dying to get out of a ticket, neither can the cops.
You ever heard of Milgram's experiment? The one where Milgram proved that most people will do anything, like torture someone they don't know, if someone with even the slightest amount of authority tells them to? Yeah, you should check that out. It's very relevant to this thread.
