they should make it so that you have to paint the target with your reticule for 3 seconds and then you get a lock. However, even then the tracking woudln't be quite as strong as it is now. Sounds good?

Why not just change the rocket launcher!!!! Keep the tracking but have the rocket have 4 rounds per reload but each individual rocket does half the damage as the one right now.

Example, it would take 2 rockets to kil a normal non-tank vehicle and its entire clip (4 rounds) to kill a tank. Also, a direct hit on a person kills a person but splash damage is like getting a body shot with the sniper!

One last thing, it shoots and locks on just a tad faster to make up for the fast rockets and it reloads a bit slower also. Anyone agree?

"There are fighters and there are targets. There is nothing else."

I say only keep it if you bring back the Banshee fuel rod gun (or "banshee bomb") its totally unbalanced with out it

I think the lock on is fine, the rockets should do less damage though, maybe 2 rockets to take down a banshee?

Wow. Do you guys even think about what you're saying before you hit "submit"?

4 rockets to kill a tank? Are you kidding? You're basically asking that the rocket launcher be made as useful as the needler, magnum, and smg.

Weakening the weapons is not the answer!

Don’t get mad if I flame you because you cannot spell, or because my three year old has better grammar and etiquette than you.

One game I'm not joking a little like 7 year old said and I quote " tell me what your dick looks like so I can imagine it in my head and beat off to it"

If Team Swat became ranked, would there still be no shields?

Amazing!

No auto lock would make Banshee's more difficult to take out.

It's going to stay as it should.

@Striker29:
Yeah, the Banshee as it currently is would be harder to take down without the lock-on rocket launcher. What I propose is the Banshee be made more vulnerable to small arms fire. That way, anyone on foot could do significant damage with a BR or SMGs. To keep the Banshee viable, it's handling and speed should be improved and it should get its fuel rod cannon back. That way, a skilled Banshee pilot could be a force, but wouldn't be unstoppable.

Currently, if you shoot the Banshee with anything other than a rocket or a Scorpion all that happens is parts fall off of it, but it still flies. I've seen both anti grav pods get shot off and the Banshee still flew around shooting people. It looked like a purple hot dog flying through the air.

We don't need a lock-on rocket launcher to balance out the Banshee. There are other ways to do it without affecting all the other vehicles in the game.

What I do hate about the rocket launcher is when you're firing at the ground in front of a person and the reticle turns red, instead of firing at the ground, the rocket zooms towards the person and away instead of hitting the ground. It's frustrating...

Personally, I've felt that the auto-tracking feature really reduced the amount of fun that could be had in some of the vehicle-oriented maps such as Coagulation, etc. Basically, if there's a rocket on the map, anyone who is in a vehicle is sitting in a deathbox. I would love to see vehicles somehow (I have no idea how this would happen) be more susceptible to small fire (why are Ghosts SO hard to kill without rockets) yet able to evade a rocket more easily.

What I'd like Bungie to do is stop parking all the vehicles in the open where the enemy team can spawnkill you vehicles.

In Coagulation, that's our number one tactic. Take the rocket launcher, retreat it back to our own base and lay the smack down on the enemy vehicles. After that, it's completely one sided. We'll have two Warthogs going and all the ghosts swirling around looking for enemy targets.

If by some miracle one of the enemy team gets to a vehicle the entire group descends on that poor bastard like a Thor's hammer!

Yeah thats what i mean... (sry english not my 1st language)

Well i personally think that the rocket should be kept like it is currently but there should be more protection in the vehicles.

Ex.: If the rocket touch the back of the vehicle, only the gunner die, if it touch the side, the passenger die or the driver (depending on the side) and if it touch the engine, BOUM!!!!!

Thats for warthog, it could be like this for every vehicle

yeah, you are right, but i think that the Banshee "tricks" should be able to make us evade the rocket

i think that it should stay the same but also add a detonate action to it like if you shoot it at a sniper from far away all he has to do is move to the side just a tiny bit and you miss with the detonate action if they mvove you can jus detonate it as close to the person as you can......hehehehe

People don't realize why all the auto-aim and crap was put in. Lag. The lock-on is there for Lag the auto-aim on weapons is there because of lag, can you imagine trying to play Halo 1 on XBox Live? It would suck terribly, ever tryed playing it on XBC? LAG

No it wouldn't. I played H1 on XBC and it works perfectly without lag, it lags on XBC differently that no live. It would work perfectly for Live too without all the autoaim that we have now.

Dawn of the Dead video Here
6 Minutes of Hell video here

I think that the rocket lock on should require skill instead of just locking on and instantly killing people. For example, just look at the e3 multiplayer demo, where you had to track the vehicle for a few seconds for it to track. I hate just being able to point and click and get a kill. Either make it harder to use, or take out the tracking feature all together.
