So flood, here's my story:
(tl;dr at bottom)
It begins back in the month of August, when I first moved into my dorms to start my college life. At first, all was well; the dorms were brand new, my room mate was a cool guy, I was meeting new people, and life was good. Well then, a few weeks into my dorm life, they got the internet working in my room, meaning I could stay in my room to do homework instead of having to go to the lobby. This is when I first noticed the noise.
It started out as a light tapping one day coming from the room above me. At first, I thought nothing of it, but a week went by, and the noise grew louder. Now, being the courteous neighbor that I am, instead of going upstairs and demanding it stopped, I went to the Res. hall's facebook group and politely asked for an explanation for the noise. Someone replied with "that's so and so doing insanity". Now, in order to be courteous I let it go since it was just during day time hours and wasn't that loud, after all, it couldn't get worse right? wrong.
Fast forward a few days, and I'm chilling in my room at night, talking to my roommate and doing homework, when we hear it again, but louder and later than usual. My roommate and I agree that it is annoying but don't do anything about it at this point other than tap the ceiling a few times with the broomstick if it happened after midnight as the universal sign of "keep it down up there, we're trying to sleep."
Fast forward again, and me and a couple of friends are chilling in my room playing xbox. The noise at this point has reached the point of being a full blown nuisance on a regular basis. Now, seeing as how we were slightly drunk, we turned my speakers on relatively loud. It wasn't long before several neighbors, including one of the ones from the room above us showed up in a mob to ask us to turn the music down. We politely apologized and turned it down.
A few weeks later, due to excessive noise in the halls, from both sides of my room, and from above my room, I, in partial jest, returned to the Res. hall's facebook group with a declaration that if anyone would make noise while I was studying or sleeping, then I would out do it, in an attempt to deter the noise. Of course, for a while all was peaceful.
Now, lets fast forward to this weekend. This week, finals start, so it is a stressful time for everyone. Also, due to certain bull-blam!- circumstances, I have a calc. final Monday morning at 7:30. Well, in order to prepare for that, I've been trying to get to sleep early... the -blam!- upstairs apparently has different plans, as for the past week, the noise from the room above has gotten to unbearable levels, almost as if it was deliberate, especially at night. So, last night, in a state of tired anger, I would retaliate to any particularly loud sound from above by throwing a ball at the ceiling or just standing on my bed and punching it repeatedly... only to be answered by even louder crashes.(mind you this is after midnight.)
Now, tonight, it got particularly bad, so I finally snapped, and recalling my joking statement on the the res hall's facebook page, I cranked my speakers louder than I ever had before and began to blast eminem. It wasn't long before the -blam!- who lived above me came to my door, saying "we're trying to study, please turn it down." to which I replied "huh, what a coincidence, I'm trying to sleep, quit slamming things on the floor, and the music will go off." followed by me closing the door before she could respond.
Now flood, guess what happened next? She and her friend called the RA's on me, and they showed up threatening to write me up. I calmly replied to them, "Okay, fine, but as long as you're here, go upstairs and tell them to quit making so much noise up there, as well." They replied okay, and then I went to bed thinking it was over.
Now flood, here I sit, 2 hours later, and they are still slamming -blam!- all over the place, keeping me from sleeping, and I want payback. So flood, any ideas as to how to get revenge?
TL;DR: The -blam!- above me has been making way too goddamn much noise, I tried to be civil about it, but it only got worse, I resorted to more aggressive methods, they came to complain, I offered a truce, they replied by going to the RA's, and the noise still hasn't stopped. How shall I seek vengeance?
