Me: Im going to hell...

Hello Flood. I am usually a lurker on the forums, only posting from time to time. However; today I have found the desire to make a thread.

I am a musician, I play guitar and sing. I do not consider myself amazing, but I do enjoy hearing what people think about my abilities (or lack of?).

I figured I would make a thread for myself, and other musicians, to post samples of themselves performing/playing. We would than provide feedback (Please no trolling or hostility).

The sample I am going to put up is one of my worse quality recordings (Old recording that I just decided to put up), but I really think I did a decent job singing/playing it. So I would like some feedback.

Follow You Into The Dark

Wonderwall

I also will post another one! Supersonic

I am also asking any other musicians of the Flood to post themselves (Encouraging even the shyest of musicians) for us to give constructive feedback to.

So far your cover of Follow You Into The Dark is pretty good. The only subtle issues I can hear so far are your voice doesn't sound quite on pitch with the guitar and maybe a little out of tune here and there? Otherwise, this is rather nice.

Unfortunately, I don't have anything to post of myself playing... So sorry, but I most definitely would if I did.

Thanks for the feedback! And it is quite possible when I recorded this that one of the strings on my guitar was tuned too flat. But Thank you!

Sounds pretty good. There are some timing issues but nothing that ruins the songs. If you don't mind the input, you might try to record to a click track if possible. Or at least have a metronome in one ear while recording. It will tighten things up a bit and help your sense of time overall.

As expected, I don't have anything recorded but I might just have to lay some stuff down in the near future to share. Way to be posting your stuff. Takes a bit of courage to lay it out there. And was that a Schecter? Way to go with the hard tail.

Maverick, what is it like having a dozen fingers on each hand? That music was crazy.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

Window is the last song I recorded before I moved from California to Texas, leaving my guitar behind. Somewhat fitting, considering the subject. If I bought another guitar, this would be the first song I'd start working on.

Wasted Christmas is something I started to help another band out. They wanted a morbid Christmas song so I started came up with this, with the intent of having it perfected by Christmas, but I haven't worked on it since July.

This is my favorite. Not so much because of the music itself but because of how well I think it portrays the mediocrity of a desk job and scraping by.

The biggest problem I've had with recording music is not ever having a proper place to record. It's always been a case of whenever it won't bother neighbors or room mates, instead of whenever I feel like it's a good time to record. This is probably the biggest reason why I stopped.

Sound good to me! You should definitly pick up a guitar again!

Who's got AIDS?

Do you do anything other than just strum chords? You have to have something that makes you unique.

There's a “U” and “I” in union but just an “I” in my beliefs

I like your lyrics. That's all I can add.

Yes, however, when I am singing and playing at the same time I usually play chords. Unless I am playing with my band, than I play more distorted riffs/solos and sing.

Sounds good. I'd say you have the potential to do whatever the hell you want in the terms of music. I noticed you struggled slightly slightly on that one high note in Follow You Into the Dark, as I'm sure you've noticed as well.
I say you should try exploring your musical abilities. Do whatever kind of music you feel like doing, regardless of your skill with it. Assuming you worked yourself up to this point and didn't just pick up a guitar 4 seconds ago and jump straight into this, then you've learned enough to be able to improve yourself in any way you want- which technically means that you have the potential to do pretty much anything

Your voice is amazing. However I noticed that your guitar was out of tune lol. I couldn't get over that. But anyway, your voice is great and I think you're doing an awesome job. Where did you put your capo (first song)?

You have a good voice, guitar is not amazing but is defiantly good enough.

Choice of wonderwall.... cliched as hell, deathcab though, I don't even like them much but I enjoyed that.

I'd post, but I only have two bad quality/bad recordings on soundcloud. Oh what the hell

The bluesy one is good, but really repetitive, even thought it's only a minute long.

I really like the other one though. Good stuff.

Sorry if I am doing a double post, but I do have some very vocally diverse areas that I try to sing. Tell me what you think about this vocal-wise- Back from Cali

I thought i remembered seeing this in AM.

You should get a soundcloud. It's another great way to get your music out there, and it's free.

Major props to my hommie Sheeef. He made Recon possible for me. Long time recovering emails and passwords. And it was his. lol.

The first song, Follow You Into The Dark is pretty good. I do agree though, pitch is just a hair off. Sure the recording isn't THE BEST, but who's are these days? Especially if it's one of your first and not the best gear.
Here is a list of me.

Losing interest band back in 2006 or 2007. I'm on the left. (Guitar)

My soundcloud account. Lol old stuff from 2008/2009 to 2010 i think.

Drop Dead, Gorgeous - In Vogue era. OLD BAND back in 2006/2007.

My YouTube channel. Lol again, haven't uploaded a vid in forever.
Ummm yah i think that's it. Idk there's probably a ton more floating out there. Lol.
