Well if you look at the Weekly What's Update, you will see that they were talking about the AI. And that you are facing grunts.

"Today, I swear I saw some Grunts do a classic pincer-movement to trap me in a narrow canyon. I was battling um, something bigger than a Grunt, and suddenly, I'm being peppered by a second group of jerks, mostly Grunts, who'd been sent in around my flanks to take me out. Grunts are still grunts though, and once I showed some serious opposition, a couple of them panicked and fled, but they nearly had me and it was quite a shock."

So, this proves the theory that we will join up with the grunts, elites and hunters. I doubted this theory the whole time. Just because we are fighting for a ocmmon goal (to stop the Prohet of truth) doesn't mean the bad blood will jsut dissapear between us. Just look at the reason why the Elites rebel, because the Brutes and the Prophets "spilled their brothers' blood". Didn't we do the same?

So....I guess there will be no alliance, it's on this site, just not everything is black & white.

This doesn't mean that there won't be any Covenant on your side.

Like, in some of the Arbiter levels in Halo 2, you were still facing grunts, with grunts on your team.

Yeah but Arbiter is on their side now too. He's a heretic (along with all the elites, grunts and hunters) now so he will be with all the grunts.

The master chief, and the majority of humans and rebel covies havn't discovered the bond between Arbiter and 2 humans (Johnson and Keyes). So Masterchief will stomp everything in his path!

MasterChief may not hate the idea of teaming up with creatures ( Elites)nearly as strong as Spartans...
