An honest question for people from England, why do you guys care so much about the royal family?
Normally I'd try comparing them to the U.S. President, but the royal family's role in British government is all but gone. Is it a tradition or something to glorify the royal family?
They're part of our heritage, a reminder of old Britain, I would be very sad to see them go. Besides Cromwell tried to get rid of them completley once and it ended very badly (Alot of Irish people were killed, and alot of fun things were banned, which is why British people tend to talk about the weather alot, because it was one of the only things you could talk about then)
