Subject: How long will Superheroes stay popular?

We've always had our stories about champions with powers. No culture is exempt. Its only a matter of time before Superman and Captain America join Achilles in the pantheon of human mythos.
Exactly.

These guys are historical legends and we don't even know it!

Our descendants will continue their legacy and tell their stories for generations to come as we do with Greek Gods and Mythical Creatures.

They've been around as a concept long before we started applying that label to them. There have been stores about heroes with some sort of special powers for ages, whether it's been mutations or magic. I'm sure some of the implementation details will get updated with every generation, but I'd imagine they'll stick around.

Welp, that's the end of the Nolan's Batman trilogy, I guess we're back to semi-mediocre -blam!- like Avenger's Assemble... :(

Ahem...

It's an origin story all origin stories suck including Batman Begins. I mean Batman Begins is the best origin story but it very much pales in comparison to The Dark Knight and the Dark Knight Rises, so I'm gonna watch Man of Steel, but I'm more psyched for the inevitable second-in-a-probable-trilogy...

The only reason they're still popular is because of the recent flood of superhero movies.
Superhero movies have been done since the superheroes were first created.

I mean it's only been about 80 years since the modern superhero was created, but since then every decade has created comics for them as well as movies. I feel like this will never end. They are the fairy tales of today and of tomorrow. Of course fairy tales like Snow White or whatever will not get replaced, but it seems like Superheroes have joined the ranks of those stories.

Anybody agree?

There was no GOOD ironman, hulk, batman, movie before the modern creations from Disney damn it! Superman still fails lol. If those movies were never made, I -blam!- you not, we'd forget about them.

The comics are mediocre at best now. They've made the heroes so godly that they can't even get hurt, not a single weakness for Iron Man, he's barely even a god damn human being!
Maybe you don't think those movies were good, but I'm pretty sure people loved the old Batman and Superman movies when they were first released.

Also, Ironman gets hurt all the time, do you want them to kill them off or something? Read the comics and the type of -blam!- they do in those, you'd be asking for them to be even more powerful in the movies.

Powers
The Bleeding Edge Armor, unlike any armor before it, is stored in Stark's bones, and can be assembled and controlled by his thoughts.
Added by ADourStark is a mutated human due to the injection of the Extremis bio-virus and the "Bleeding Edge" armor nanotubes which are powered by the arc reactor in his chest.

Psi-Shields: Due to new S.H.I.E.L.D treatments, Stark's mind is shielded from even the strongest telepaths.

Direct Cybernetic Interface: The Extremis virus has fused Stark's armor to his body. Initially the inner layers of the Iron Man armor were stored in the hollows of his bones, but later his entire exo-armor would be contained within carbon nanotubes. He is able to manifest and control the armor through direct brain impulses and even utilize some of its powers when unsurfaced. He has direct, cyberpathic control over the communication devices, scanning equipment, and recording devices located in his helmet.

Wireless Communication: He is also able to remotely connect to external communications systems such as satellites, cellular phones, and computers throughout the world. Stark is also capable of projecting his voice through transmitting sound systems such as cellular phones via electric transmissions from his central nervous system.
Superhuman Reflexes: The Extremis virus grants him enhanced speed reactions and movements.
Regenerative Systems: Stark is capable has the ability to biologically heal himself and repair the armor.
Limited Shapeshifting: His armor is made up of nano-machines that can be commanded to turn into any type of structure upon Stark's skin. Examples include clothes, other armors, additional weapons over his armor like a boxing glove or a modified laser cannon by having the nano-machines change their properties into whatever Stark wants them to. They can also dissociate to transform into the Iron Man armor whenever

Iron "Man" isn't even human anymore lol

Also not Iron, but Bioenhanced Nanomutant just isn't as catchy of a name.

We've always had superheroes in our myths. Hercules and Perseus were akin to ancient Superman and Batman. It's a true trope.

Dear tomorrow, Find some sensibility, Respond to emotion.
Dear Politician, Define sagacity,
All chances of survival are beginning to diminish.
Comedy is no excuse for our own blasphemies.
Mass media, Mass pessimism, Mass Denial.
My television tells me to panic, but I don't think I'll listen.
The apathetic force us to persevere, with their backwards priorities.

There's a “U” and “I” in union but just an “I” in my beliefs

As long as the media is talking about it they will always be here.

Especially the big Superhero's like: Batman, Superman, and Spiderman. I don't think they'll ever be forgotten.

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me"

- Batman

Don't know.

I think we are already getting re-hashes and unless we get another game changer (like The Dark Knight) I think they could be dead (as far as movies at least) within fifteen years.

Octavia is best pony.

The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No."

I used to be indecisive, but now i'm not sure.

So I guess Jack Kirby will one day be regarded as the new Leonardo Da Vinci!?
I'm okay with this.

And Stan Lee will be the new Jesus. He already behaves like Jesus, making surprise appearances in random crap.

I am a penguin. Every day I boogie on down to the water, and eat fish. Once, while fishing in the deepest depths, I saw great Cthulhu... And he said to me "Shine, to thine own self be true. They can't tell you what to do once you've gone guru." Also, I should tell you, "slide".

Inventor of the Bombstache avatar!

Considering they've been fairly popular since before there were PRINTED WORDS, I would say they've probably got the sort of staying power that wont likely ever fall out of fashion.
