Why is it such a big deal? I can think of a million other things to throw a hissy fit about.
It isnt really. But its annoying especially if you talk about "England" in WW2 that just completely ignores all the troops from the other parts of Britain that fought against the Axis

Personally I've never heard someone use "England" only as part of Britain's involvement in WWII.
I have so its pretty irritating for me.since my grand parents fought in that war for Britain

UK is everything, the island of GB and some other stuff.

GB is just what's on the island of GB.

And England is part of GB and the UK.

Sums it about real quick and unspecific like.

Fair do's, lots of us do think of it as the whole of GB. It's probably some of the ignorant sods who said that.

In memory of those fallen in the defense of Earth and her colonies.

Because Americans are under educated. They don't learn much about the rest of the world - only about their own country.

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

Why do you always think the United Kingdom/Britain=England? I always notice its always people from the US that get it wrong

I don't... Blame our educational system though.

Good old hypocrisy, what humanity does best.

I really don't get why Americans call the UK England; rather than the UK, or Britain. I mean the UK has exited for about 69 years longer than the United States itself.

I think that way by accident sometimes.

For the same reason I get Canadians and Americans mixed up. I'm not from that part of the world, so I don't know as much about the dialects and regions as the locals.
Don't really need to know about the dialects etc when they're two distinct countries.
I've met Canadians and asked what part of the States they're from. >_<

If you're talking about my side, then England, Scotland and Northern Ireland are all part of the United Kingdom. Wales isn't even a country.
Wait you're serious? You think Canada and the United States are the same? HAHAHAHAHA -blam!- all the people who think Americans are the most ignorant.
Its because to us there accents sound similar
That doesn't matter. I don't see how accents sounding similar excuses you from not know that Canada and the United Sates are different countries. That's honestly appalling to me. In 6th grade I had tests where I had to label every country on each continent. I would understand if you didn't know about some small, unimportant country but the US and Canada are pretty prominent in world affairs.
I think you misunderstand me. Obviously i know that Canada and the USA are two separate countries
Oh oops, the guy who I was replying to earlier didn't as he said "I've met Canadians and asked what part of the States they're from."

I like Halo: Reach. I think its a fun game. What i DON'T like about it is that the maps such as SwordBase is terrible. I don't hate armor lock, but i can say it can sometimes get annoying. Bloom doesn't bother me either.

We have world history and world classes...

Thanks for the stereotype though, it's appreciated.
This is a little of topic but im curious. Do they teach you that the French helped you win the Revolutionary war?

Of course. Without their navy or any of their assistance, we wouldn't exist today. The Dutch and Spain also gave some help too, but aren't really mentioned much at all.

In class, we just got done studying about the French Revolution and now we are watching a movie about the British and the French at war. I forgot the name of the movie but the boat HMS Survivor is in it and the French boat Acheron I think thats how its spelled.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

It doesn't?...oops

Because we aren't from the UK and don't really feel all that compelled to learn the difference. I understand it, but it just isn't all that important to most people.

Just my 2 cents.
You should break the stereotype you have and try to learn more about other country's you are not from.Did they not teach you any of this in school?
What do you gain other than not being ignorant?
