New account. Testing it w/ this thread.

Epsilon.

A man wakes up, cold and alone in an unusually gloomy city. The people act quiet and are mysterious. Your protagonist is veteran police officer James Royce. You explore this city (open world, but it is explored in a linear fashion). A presence makes itself known to you, and you must evade it before it kills you. About midway into the game, it is revealed that you are part of Project Epsilon, a top secret government project to upload the human mind and it's consciousness to a computer. The presence following you is really a computer virus. The virus begins to take a toll on this virtual city, corrupting it. By the end, the sky is glitchy, there are errors and it is simply a floating void in nothingness.

What do you think? It would play in a first person format.

Has potential. But I don't see any elements of horror.

I am...whimsical today.

Could you elaborate on 'open world, but it is explored in a linear fashion'? I'm not sure I get what you mean.

Are the other people also uploaded minds, or are they computer generated?

Does the outside world contact James?

$.50 in store credit.

Interesting concept, but it's a very basic plot.

Lots of potential for something good there though.

1. Think Dead Island.

2. Yes, but their personalities are fragmented and twisted as they didn't upload correctly.

3. They try the entire game, but they never succeed until the end.

I would change the virus into something far more interesting. In my opinion, the virus should be the Director of the project. The backstory behind the Director could be anything. I'm leaning towards a mentally deranged psycho who enjoys torturing people because he has lost everything. He has uploaded his mind into this system so he can gain happiness from destroying other people's minds.

I would change the ending as well. The ending should be determined by the choices you make in the game. You could have a corruption line. The more evil you are, the more corrupted you become. If you become super evil, you defeat the Director however your mind becomes the base for the new virus. Also, you could reveal that the virus is actually an indestructible entity that feeds on human emotions. It is a parasite that infects the minds of human beings. The virus was controlling the Director. It was locked away in this system along with the Director. The only way to prevent the infection is by feeding it human minds. Turns out that the government has also struck a deal with the parasite. As long as they provide it with fresh minds, it won't destroy Earth.
