This isn't intended to offend anyone, just a general question. Im talking about real depression, not just being sad for a week.

And if so, feel free to share why, cause maybe you can help someone who is now.

I'll be honest, things weren't going good at all a year ago (dad lost job and family went to hell) but we climbed out of it fast. But I can relate to some of you guys.

I made a thread about depression but it got locked. It was a special thread.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

Quite often actually, it's horrible. There's always light at the end of the tunnel though :)

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

The closest depressing thing I've come to would be boredom.

"Dismiss your dream as fantasy that recognized your ambition, and move on, with open arms. Accept the possibility of other perfections, not hers. Her perfection is dim."

-Tex Watson

If you've never been depressed, you haven't lived.

in·dif·fer·ence
the fact or state of being indifferent; lack of care or concern and empathy demonstrated by an absence of emotional reactions.

I think I've been depressed for my whole life.
That or I'm just EXTREMELY cynical and pessimistic.

Pure Insanity
The point of war is not to die for one's clan, but it's to make the other bastard die for his
Right before you die, there is always a chance to save yourself, sieze that chance and live to fight another day
The best way to kill someone is to fight them with the same weapons they use and make them know you are better than them, not because of superior weaponry, but because of superior skill.
Hidden in the shadows, Clothed in camo, Armed to the teeth. Hunting.

Nope, and I highly doubt I will ever come close. I'm just not that type of person.

Color The Sky
Lost In Las Vegas
Missed You

Remember all
The sadness and frustration
And let it go

For eight years. Since I was ten years old. Dealt with suicidal urges (and one attempt). I would say that some people are lucky, because they come out of it. Not so for me, because i was born wrong, I guess you could say. Gender Identity Disorder. Would prefer to not really get into it.

  • 12.03.2012 6:38 PM PDT

Oh, you think darkness is your ally. You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see the light until I was already a man. By then, it was nothing to me but BLINDING!

They make pills for that, you know. Though, I've never been the pill-popping sort. I think the worst thing I have is a bloated sense of entitlement. Depression? I think not. I piss and moan, sure, but it's all about relatively minor things. At the end of the day, I recognize I'm damn luckier than most. It may take a bit to sink in, but it's always there.

Yes. It seems as though every time I have happiness it is ripped away.

Yes. I am right now.

"This was a triumph...
I'm making a note here, huge success.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction..."

Big time.
I'm currently on the border of being depressed and not being depressed.

A very ignorant way of looking at it.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

You do know depression can happen to anyone at anytime? Sometimes even making them emotionless.

  • 12.03.2012 6:43 PM PDT

You look around. You fire your weapon before you realize.
Its just me. I fall and you walk up. You cry why.
When i pop up. You look at me in wonder. I say,"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL."
You bend to my will and go to a cliff, walk off, and fall.
The last thing you hear is me stating as fact,"All will fail the battle of life, you just went early"

Nope.

  • 12.03.2012 6:44 PM PDT

No. Because I'm always loud. And being loud always makes eveything BETTER!

  • 12.03.2012 6:44 PM PDT

the universe is so wide, any possibility you can think of has happened somewhere, in order for there to be a thought of it, the universe has to give it a chance to happen for it to be possible to think about. The universe even allows us to think and come up with different theorys on the universe, whatever exists is possible, yet the universe doesn't have a reason for it at all. Also, insanity.

  • 12.03.2012 6:45 PM PDT

I am. I have been. And I will be.

No, depressed people don't think like that. There's a difference between being sad and being depressed. There is not always a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes it's just a train.

  • 12.03.2012 6:45 PM PDT

"Life is constantly fleeting from your grasp even from the very day it's bestowed upon you, but the shadow of death is always there, waiting for its chance to take you away."

"Even though many may not think so, ignorance and innocence are one and the same. The only difference is that one sounds nicer."

"I once knew a man who spent his entire life contemplating where we go after our death....it's a shame he realized it a second too late to tell anyone."

Depressed for most of my younger years, from what I remember, and was planning to kill myself at one point.

No, im still human. Some basic emotions may apply. But not sadness to the point of depression over an "unfortunate" event. Whatever it may be. Sadness? Melancholy? Grief? Sorrow? Cant say I experience that in droves. For the most part I cant say I experience it at all.

Ah, but you should be careful when you say that, cause what seems pointless to you may mean the world to another.

Just a thought
