You may be over exaggerating slightly OP. Granted we may be a bunch of self-concerned unrighteous bastards but we have the potential to be so much more as is proven by that 5%. Just imagine a humanity with that 5% being everyone.

But that will never happen because there will always be people who try and take advantage of others, and those who are fueled by jealousy and lust, and others who just like to hurt people. There will always be bad people, and the bar is lowered every day for what makes someone a "good person".

Humanity is on a persistent collision course with the imminent New Dark Ages.

The foolish ideology of so many is the root of so much stupidity.

Those who try to speak out and inform the ignorant are the ones who are shunned, ignored, and written off as simply 'not true'.

History shows this with so many philosophers, and other important figures - even Jesus Christ himself was crucified because of humanity's ignorance.

You misunderstand. We are the holy grail of life, at the peak of evolution. Able to adapt so fast that we have blanketed the globe, and perhaps one day we will blanket others. Some may simply not care but even those people are part of the system, feeding it and causing it to advance. We are the best out of the twisted, numbed minds that nature has made.

The truth of the matter is that if you do research, you'll know that intergalactic travel (travel to different solar systems) is next to impossible. It may even be impossible.

The sickening thing about us is that so many people know of the humans who are suffering, the ones who are needy, yet they keep moving on, as if blinded.

But are we not the best of the other feral minds of this world? True, we may never reach the stars but on this earth don't we still stand as the most compassionate of these desperate creatures? Even though many of us would ignore the needs of others there is almost no species that exhibits the trait of charity besides us, and those that do, do it rarely.

  • 12.03.2012 8:25 PM PDT

Would you care to tell us what other species are better?

  • 12.03.2012 8:31 PM PDT

Hi! How you doin'?

Sometimes, all you need are a couple giant explosions to get you through the day.

If you dislike how humanity behaves so much, OP, get off of your butt and do something about it.

Angsty teen is angsty.

These other animals that you speak of can't 'think' like we do.

You said so yourself, that we are the peak of evolution.

You can't compare humans to animals that can't even set up their own 'civilizations'.

That's like me saying "True, the Xbox 360 can't put players into a 'reality' gaming environment, but in the gaming industry, isn't the Xbox 360 better than anything that came before it?"

That's pointless. You shouldn't expect an animal to donate to charity, or anything of that nature, when they don't even realize how big their own population is.

So you agree we are the best?

Dear tomorrow, Find some sensibility, Respond to emotion.
Dear Politician, Define sagacity,
All chances of survival are beginning to diminish.
Comedy is no excuse for our own blasphemies.
Mass media, Mass pessimism, Mass Denial.
My television tells me to panic, but I don't think I'll listen.
The apathetic force us to persevere, with their backwards priorities.

The title. It suggests you are objective to our species.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

balk of humanity is nothing more than an immoral

Morals are subjective.

What now?

Not true, everyone knows the difference between right and wrong.

Hah no, we don't. There is no objective "right" and "wrong".

Morals differ for a lot of people.

To elaborate on subjective morality:
Individual morality must certainly be subjective. When individual moralities coalesce, a society may consider the collective thought to be an objective morality. I see this as the basis for our laws, and it would also explain why the laws differ in other parts of the world.

You're right, you should just end it.

Go ahead, put that gun to the bottom of your chin. You obviously think that human beings are worth a sack of -blam!-. You are one, so go ahead.

Oh wait. You probably think you are of that 5%. You probably think you better than most people, so you feel you can say only 5% of the human race is worth anything. Go to hell.

Humanity is an ugly race. the majority of humans don't look like the people you see in the movies. Infact, the majority and balk of humanity is nothing more than an immoral, selfish, slob who is depressed.

Only about 5% of the human population is actually worth something, A good amount of people try to be worth something, and then the rest just don't give a crap about anything.

Basically, we're all ugly and movies make humans seem like an important bein, but in reality we are extremely overrated.

It's ironic how you describe people as slobs who are depressed.

I lol'd. Was thinking something similar.

Let me think about this. 5% of 7 billion is 350 million people. I don't see the problem OP can you explain it to me more?

  • 12.03.2012 10:34 PM PDT

I think humanity is, for the most part, really great. We generally care about each other greatly and we're able to use our immense brain power to better the world.

OP, however, is a stupid teenager.

Sometimes I am tempted to quit gaming. I can no longer play without seeing ponyphags, horrendously bad teammates and mexicans.

Gaming community, I want you to know that you suck.

The funny thing about this is that the 95% don't care.
