You misunderstand. We are the holy grail of life, at the peak of evolution. Able to adapt so fast that we have blanketed the globe, and perhaps one day we will blanket others. Some may simply not care but even those people are part of the system, feeding it and causing it to advance. We are the best out of the twisted, numbed minds that nature has made.
The truth of the matter is that if you do research, you'll know that intergalactic travel (travel to different solar systems) is next to impossible. It may even be impossible.
The sickening thing about us is that so many people know of the humans who are suffering, the ones who are needy, yet they keep moving on, as if blinded. But are we not the best of the other feral minds of this world? True, we may never reach the stars but on this earth don't we still stand as the most compassionate of these desperate creatures? Even though many of us would ignore the needs of others there is almost no species that exhibits the trait of charity besides us, and those that do, do it rarely.
These other animals that you speak of can't 'think' like we do.
You said so yourself, that we are the peak of evolution.
You can't compare humans to animals that can't even set up their own 'civilizations'.
That's like me saying "True, the Xbox 360 can't put players into a 'reality' gaming environment, but in the gaming industry, isn't the Xbox 360 better than anything that came before it?"
That's pointless. You shouldn't expect an animal to donate to charity, or anything of that nature, when they don't even realize how big their own population is.
