Subject: Vertical Fore grip vs Front pistol grip on a pump action shotgun?

Completely vertical like this?

or more of a pistol grip like this?

Keep in mind I am only asking about the forward grip, so do not base opinion on anything else pictured.
Any shooters that can vouch for either one? Which one is more comfortable?

This is what I currently have. 12 gauge, with a 20 inch barrel and ghost ring sights mounted.

Please no rage about guns. I have one, you will not convince me to give it up.

Hey I am a big Bungie fan ever since I played Halo 2. I love the series, I love Bungie. I have made a few Bungie logos in my metal shop.

THe link is broken for the third one.

OT: pistol grip.

I would go with the completely vertical one. More area to grab and hold on to, and more comfortable (at least to me). Plus, it's more ascetic to me than pistol grips.

Why didn't Frodo just stick the ring up his ass?

Because Sam would keep turning invisible.

I've never shot a shotgun with any type of foregrip, though a vertical foregrip seems the way to go.

I agree, but I do not know of a place to that will let me try each before I choose.

you should just go to the local gun store and ask to hold a few guns with vertical and pistol grips.

see which one is more comfortable/easier to use.

not that it's complicated to use...

It's not that I'm crazy... It's just that, you're not as far out there as I am.

I've personally liked the vertical grip.

The gun show is an M590a1 tactical shotgun if I'm not mistaken. Got a similar one back home.

M500 tactical, visually the same gun, very few differences.

How is it on the hands when firing slugs through your Saiga and Remington? Did it help with recoil and holding aim or not really?

Vertical is more comfortable for me, but I prefer my shotgun without any front grip. Just a personal preference

I think shotguns look kinda retarded with an additional grip.

If you aren't man enough to make do with the default grip, use a different gun.

Also, I find it awkward holding something with 2 grips like that.

Vertical, or at least it works for me on my AR15.

Eh, I would only go with a forward grip if you are using it without the butt stock.

In my eyes I don't see any real advantage to a forward grip what so ever. I am even weary about a pistol grip to begin with on a 12 gauge. I've heard stories of people's wrists getting -blam!- up from the recoil while using a pistol grip on a 12 gauge.

Though, if I had to choose, I would drop that Mossturd and get an 870 because me, and I would go for option number 1. For some reason, option 2 screams Russian Mafia at me.
