I think shotguns look kinda retarded with an additional grip.

If you aren't man enough to make do with the default grip, use a different gun.

Also, I find it awkward holding something with 2 grips like that.

Using the pump action is actually more normal-feeling with the grips, but it's harder to aim IMO because both your hands are below the gun rather than having one hand on it without a vert grip.

Vertical for me. A front pistol grip puts my wrist at an awkward and uncomfortable angle.

Eh, I would only go with a forward grip if you are using it without the butt stock.

See above picture to see what stock/grip I have.

In my eyes I don't see any real advantage to a forward grip what so ever. I am even weary about a pistol grip to begin with on a 12 gauge. I've heard stories of people's wrists getting -blam!- up from the recoil while using a pistol grip on a 12 gauge.

I have a buttstock, my wrist are safe. Besides, I need to put something. Just having rails feels terrible and awkward.

Though, if I had to choose, I would drop that Mossturd and get an 870 because me, and I would go for option number 1. For some reason, option 2 screams Russian Mafia at me.

The 870 was also tested. It failed.

Vertical is more comfortable for me, but I prefer my shotgun without any front grip. Just a personal preference

Yeah, I saw it. Super Tacti-cooled shotguns have never been my style. I dig my walnut finish. I just need a shorter overall barrel length.

Isn't the slide release a little harder to get to with a pistol-gripped Mossberg?

You know they make polymer slides with no rails right? You don't HAVE to get a foregrip. Though if that is what you want.

I jest. I chose the 870 personally because I don't want a polymer shotgun. I don't want a shotgun pained up in camoed plastic. I wanted a gun with a wooden stock and wooden slide. That is what I got, a beautiful 870 with a walnut finish. It has dings and nicks now, but it's a field gun, it's supposed to be a little rough around the edges.

You know what might work for you, the Magpul AFG

It doesn't drop down to far, it will cover your rails, from what I hear, it runs great on a shotgun, and it looks pretty cool too.
