When I die please bury me deep!
Place an MA5 down by my feet!
Don't cry for me, don't shed no tear!
Just pack my box with PT gear!
'Cuz one early morning 'bout zero-five
The ground will rumble, there'll be lighting in the sky!
Don't you worry, don't come undone!
It's just my ghost on a PT run!

I believe Bungie's answer is also "Yes." It's funny, all the people who vote no...just one so far, guess all the cheaters are off playing four-square or something.

Crimes committed on one game do not necessarrily mean they are repeat offenders. There are no grounds for banning a playuer from a complete product line of games.

Also that would put off a lot of sales from the game in general. Just have faith in halo 3's anti chating defenses and hope they will do a good job at dealing with the situation.

Totally agree, give those filthy cheaters a second chance. I am not one of them but I still think perhaps they learned there lesson. But if not, the first time they cheat, no warning or slaps on the wrist, a full dose of the banhammer and perma-ban from matchmaking forever, muahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! Anyone agree?

Well, im pretty sure Bungie is owned by Microsoft so if they perma-ban from matchmaking and the only way out is to buy a new gamertag or console, thats just money in Bill Gates pocket!!! I think thats the real reason that they have the permanent-matchmaking ban, its a microsoft thing, In the terms of use, it says cheating and modding can disable your entire xbox live account!!! I dunno, I'm just sayin that maybe some of the people who got banned, maybe 5% deserved a warning first, instead of being perma-banned on the spot and some people could have just been banned by accident ya know. I hate those cheaters as much as the next guy, thats why I don't play team slayer, skirmish, or hardcore, thats a cheaters breeding ground. At least in unranked, if someone is cheatin, just quit and start over. Also, if we can fake a moon landing, Bungie can work a tad harder and learn from the mistakes of Halo 2 and make H3 a lot more enjoyable for everyone, like match cheaters who were banned with others just like them, keep the filth away from us non-cheaters, just an idea?!

But perm-bann is a better way to do it on...

I mean if you get one chance, then many more people would just cheat and see how long it could go for them.

No way in hell do i want to meet ex-cheaters in ranked, they can have their own server where they cheat.

The bans whould be carried over. Modders and cheaters asked for it, not there getting it. I love how Bungie knows how to bring down the hammer and bring it hard. And yet, no more or less than what cheaters deserve.

Halo's a hell of a drug.

they'll just do it again. Maybe not at first but later down the line when they want a change of pace from Halo 3. Do you really want to deal with that? Keep them banned.
