Nobody cares about anyone else's opinion - be it mine, yours, or a cult of angry star wars nerds - when they are enjoying what they enjoy.

Everyone cares about opinions, that's why we socialize on a forum with strangers.

Even if there's nothing worth getting anxious over at the moment.

How do I fix, Flood?

Canadian Nazism is a polite ideology, ok?

Signatures are for little kids.

Removal of the brains frontal lobe greatly reduces anxiety.

However, it increases lethargy and drooling.

Still, it might be worth a shot.

Don't even need to remove it. You just need a coat hanger to scramble it up.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

I don't ever try to deal with stressful problems if I'm not in a position to actually do something about them.

For Example; I don't worry about my internet bill when I'm at work because there is absolutely nothing I can do at work to fix that problem.

Don't worry about things when you can't fix them. Accept the problems and play with the cards you've been dealt.

If you're stressing out about something, step back, and realize that the more stressed you become, the worse you're going to be at dealing with the problem.

  • 12.03.2012 10:40 PM PDT

You probably have the same problem that I do. I allow every little thing to compound and wear on me until you reach a breaking point.

The best thing that you can do is step back, relax, and work on things as you're able to do so. Take things easy for a bit, then take on challenges step by step.

You're gonna be fine, I assure you. You just gotta believe in yourself and that you're doing everything right.

Take is easy

First off, to everyone who suggested medication, I'm not about to start taking psychoactive drugs to treat mild anxiety. I have always been suspicious of the use of drug therapy. It's not something you should do unless you really need it. My anxiety does not inhibit my ability to function, so I don't need it that badly.

Don't mess around with drugs unless you really need them. Seriously. The side effects aren't worth it.

Thanks, that was the most helpful reply. We do have the same problem.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Think to yourself about what you must be worried about.

What is wrong in the world that affects you so badly to make you anxious?

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

Talk to a doctor for starters.

Well, you apparently can't deal with it on your own. Who else is there to talk to?

  • 12.04.2012 12:58 PM PDT

~:O>~~

Anxiety is a evolutionary response to conflicting situations... when the mind is imbalanced (typically due to abnormailities in hormones/chemicles or other known psychological factors) it will trigger stress hormones even without there being a stimulus or catalyst. Best thing to do is to engage in stress relieving excersizes or activities and realize that it's perfectly normal to feel that way.

If I ever see anyone post in a thread "That's your opinion", I immediately lose all respect for them.

Also, if you're discussing a topic with me and you resort to name calling, pull "life checks", or just call anything you don't agree with retarded without giving legitimate reasons, don't expect me to take you serious in anyway what so ever.

I have bad anxiety too. Doctors tried giving me Zoloft or something, but they just made me feel like a potato so I didn't bother with them anymore.

Main thing that helps me with mine is music and talking to somebody you really enjoy conversing with. I guess cause those things just free your mind up of everything else.

I am dealing with it on my own. However, I would prefer not to have anxiety at all, so I'm asking for advice.

Your train of thought demonstrates exactly the type of logic that gets people diagnosed and doped up that don't need it.

OT: It's probably just hormonal. Everyone goes through a great deal of anxiety during puberty, particularly in high school. If you believe it isn't that, talk to your parents.

What?

If you're dealing with it on your own, why the anxiety still and why the need for advice?
You have no idea what my train of thought is, Silly.

Talk to a damn doctor.

My ability to function has not been affected. I have anxiety but I can still get my work done, hang out with friends, etc...

You believe that I should talk to a doctor because I'm experiencing an abnormal psychological symptom. I don't agree with that train of thought. I don't like the attitude that everything can be fixed with a pill or a few sessions on the couch. Sometimes, especially if the problem isn't debilitating, it's better to learn how to deal with it and live with it. I'm not taking some crazy psychoactive drug rushed to market by the FDA just because some doctor says it'll fix my anxiety. I'm sure it would, but what else would it do? The side effects aren't worth it unless you're truly incapacitated, and since I'm not, there's no need for medication.

You're mistaking asking for advice with crying out for help. Another erroneous train of thought. I'm asking for advice. That's all.
