Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts, absolutely.

They already have a ninja.

It's called an invisible Elite with a plasma sword.

Or an invisible Master Chief with a shotgun.

The idea of ninja is that they are normal "people" trained to extra-ordinary degree in stealth and deception.

I played the Arbiter in Ninja style. It was a pain in the ass that the stealth feature was so short lived and failed the moment you attacked but I managed to pull it off.

All you really need is a good A.I. different from the other elites. One in which the invisible elite would keep back out of sight and only emerge to aid other Elites in combat, to soften you up if you will. They could also take advantage of environmental conditions, free captured enemies, sabotage walkways and otherwise make your life difficult.

Play Metropolis on Heroic and walk toward the destroyed building and with the Jackal Snipers (after Sgt. Johnson gets on the Pelican). Walk out into the open and stand there for like two seconds, watch your radar. If you aren't killed by the incoming fire, an ultra, stealth minor or stealth major (or sometimes combonation of) will viciously kick your ass via Sword to the back of your face.

This one goes to eleven.

True, I shat it when that happened.

I agree there should be more scares and surprises.

What was worse is they came out of a back alley and crouch walked behind you. I was to busy engaging the Drones to see them, plus they came out of my blind spot. The Marines didn't really help either. I remeber, I replayed that part after dieing, and wondering what happened, I went through it again. Heard a marine scream saw all of them dead (I had given them beam rifles and sniper rifles) and then realized there was three stealthed sword wielding badasses about to morph into a Big Floaty Thing What Kicks My Ass....

I think it would be kind of cool for there to be more stealth attacks, oh well if not. Run-N-Gun works too.

That's what I always imagined the Elite Special-Ops (the black ones) doing.

All they ever did in Halo 1 was WortWortWort and shoot you as soon as you appeared. Halo 2 I don't believe I ever fought any.
