I wanna join him when we chew her out.

Look at these buildings we built, we beat nature buddy, we beat her with a rusty metal pipe, and then we beat her again until she can't even dial the phone for the cops for domestic abuse because her fingers are broken.

Global warming? Destroying the Earth? big deal, nothing we can't fix without some science. That's right, science, science fixes everything. Maybe Global warming isn't a big deal, what if it's all some PR formula to get us to buy environmental shizz to make countries look better than others? If so, we are so big, we have seperate communities, and in those communities have other separate ones which are governed by a worldly chain of command, where each ringleader commands every part of every section, that's how big humanity is.

Why else are we awesome? Opposable thumbs, we can do so much -blam!- that most of the animal population can't do, look at this, someone had programmed these words onto a piece of hardware with feedback going into a series of electrical signals, all coming together to create these processed letters displayed upon millions of pixels onto a computer screen, and that there are tens of milions of these devices around the world, whether it's a supercomputer or a smartphone, it exists and it's mass produced - and it only took us 20 years for pretty much every person of household in a first-world country to have one.

Trust me, in 100 years time, instead of worrying about Global warming, we'll probably have colonized 18 other planets to exploit the -blam!- out of and be discussing the latest trends in holo-shield technology kicking alien butts with our plasma fusion disintegration rifles

The Universe demands to be noticed, to be seen, and dutifully noted.

What use all those incredible firework dimensions if no eye fixes and reflects, no brain takes notes, no heart moves with passion at the display?

NASA answers the silent cry of the Cosmos for recognition.

NASA is the witness and we fellow witnesses to the endless deeps.

Once we expand into space, and form self-sustaining colonies on other planets we will be practically invincible, barring something like the invasion of the Covenant.

Nuclear war won't have the same threat as it does currently, and over-crowding, famine won't be as big a problem any more. From there it's just onward and upward.

That being said, it's a big if that we don't screw ourselves over until then.

So Says Shadroxon.

You won't be saying that when cephalopods are ruling the world.

Just you wait...

Makes you proud to be of the superior species.

*Applause*

It's a lot easier to destroy and bring evil than it is to achieve our incredible feats, we should be proud. There is a lot of -blam!- in the world, but there's a lot more good than there has ever been. That we can prevent ourselves from blowing up the world and ourselves in the 20th century is evidence that we will some day go on to achieve even greater things, that we are not full of hate and fear.

Some things in this World you just can't explain; but that doesn't mean they are any less true, just that you have to chose to believe in them.

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

We might be up there because of Technology.

But in a 1v1 with a Tiger, Elephant, Lion, Ostrich or Alligator you have a very small chance of surviving.

You saved Science.

you do realise that what we are doing, is not beating nature (there is no such thing as beating nature since it will allways exist and be way more powerfull then we can ever be), we are using nature. and if we continue nature will finally get rid of us or we will basically get rid of ourselves. the odds are pretty big that in 2000 years there are no humans any more.

A tosser is the same as a wanker. To toss oneself off is to fondle the trouser weasel.

We beat nature? Said that to New Orleans, Haita, New York and New Jersey, anybody who lives in a cold country, anybody who lives in a hot country.

We're not even close to beating nature. Nature man-handles us like there's no tomorrow.

Though the morrow may be barren of promises, nothing shall forstall my return.

When it comes to survival rate in the wild, we have proven on par with other species. They have techniques, so did we. They could adapt, clearly we did. They have tools, ie claws, teeth, wings, etc. While we also have tools, opposable thumbs and our vastly superior mind. All can be considered as tools. It just so happens that our greatest tool outclasses them by a mile and then some.
