> Bungie was losing reputation
You're a retard.
Because I stated the truth?
That's a new one. If 1-50 was so damn good, tell me why the creators of Halo decided to wipe it off their franchise?
Let me define to you how the gaming industry works. In the past Halo 2 was the god of Xbox back then. You had a friends list, clan list, and they created parties. The matchmaking was genius. Instead of try to find lobbies like on PC, Bungie expanded that. The lack of lag. Everything. The was no experience ranking then. Just 1-50. Simple.
Halo 3 comes out. It was a bust a first, because of the terrible melee system. Don't worry, they fixed that. They fixed the old BR glitches. The BXR, etc. To notch it up, custom games is what made it far more superior then. Halo 2. And of course, the 1-50's ranking system. Here's the neat part. Bungie is a company. They are set out to make money. In order to do so, they have to appeal to the two types of players. Competitive and casual. There was TWO separate playlist of this. Clever.
But CoD4 is what changed your so called "ranking". This is genius. Everyone knows about prestiging. Bragging rights. You gain certain levels, certain amount of experience to unlock bad ass weapons. So on and so forth. It was different. It's what sold that game. Halo has it's thing, CoD its.
So now we have two of the largest multiplayer games going at it. CoD sells so well, because it's a casual based experience. Anyone can be good at it. It's simple, fun. Halo on the other hand, requires a bit more skill. Instead of it taking one shot like in Cod, takes a little more to kill someone on Halo.
Reach releases. And it's the biggest -blam!- up from Bungie's work. The stupid bloom. The retarded ranking system. Arena. The dumbass armor abilities. Nuke grenades. Everything. They failed because they were attempting to mimic a little bit of CoD's experience. Why does Reach fail? Because it WAS NOT Halo. IT was more player friendly. Why fix something that isn't broken. Bungie was trying to appeal to the CoD crowd in ways but keep the faithful fans as well. They failed, in my opinion.
Halo 4 releases. It is SO much better than Reach. 343 redeemed the catastrophy back at Bungie. They found a concept that works. That appeals to everyone. All they need to do is re-establish that 1-50 ranking system, and I may keep playing it.
However, the old ranking system failed because everyone cried about how difficult it was to reach 50. You're either good or not. Simple as that. Don't like playing competitive trash talkers? Drag your dumbass to social games.
