I think the Ninja's get a kick out of watching everyone make a boob out of themselves in a PC/Mac war. They're probly roflmao-ing as we speak.

You are SO wrong.

Check out the Mac Pro. If you buy a DELL with the same specs, you can pay up to $1000 more. What abou the Mac mini. Decent specs, and it can be plugged into your TV to be used as a cheap home media system - music/DVD/Movies/photo libraries/Internet, etc. How much does a PC version of that cost?
iMac Displays crap on the usual flat panels. Buy and iMac it does video conferencing, photo albums, iTunes, pod-casting, web design, movie editing, music creation, and FULL integreation between ALL of the above - right out of the box, no downloads. No Viruses. No malware. Looks great. Vista? It's a bad rip off of Tiger, just as Win 95-98 was a rip off of MacOS 7-8. Vista still has a registry to corrupt and a billion .DLLs to lose. It will still use the 20 year old and slow BIOS booting. Leopard (which will lauch at the same time as Vista) will boot using the faster nad more efficient EFI system. Plus feature that will make Vista look like so much time-wasting.

You want to upgrade your PC? Well, you can upgrade you RAM. Macs and PC's have used the same RAM since the PC100 days.
Video card? Well, there are a million different cards out for PCs. Some of them are -blam!-. Choice? Well NVidia are good and pretty much an industry leader. Macs come with NVidia cards. There are fewer Mac cards out there, but that's 'cos the card that comes as a standard with your new mac is pretty good anyway.Try the card that will run two 30 inch montiors in tandem. runs full crenn video editing smooth as silk.
You want to upgrade your PC processor? Chances are either the speed abilities of the motherboard has changed, so you'll need one of those too, which means you'll probably need new RAM. Maybe even the for factor has changed, so thats a new case and PSU. Whats left? the drives? So desktop Macs are as upgradable as PCs.

I have a 3yr old 1.25GHz G4 Mac at work, with a 128Mb NVidia, and 768 M of RAM on PC2700 sticks. Halo looks great. PC at home is a DELL 2GHz with an NVidia 256 Card and 128Mb Card. Halo looks crap.

It can be that Macs can be pricey, but they DO innovate. Their OS rocks, Integrated high quality webcams on the laptops and iMacs, their mouse has a 360 degree scroll ball, their laptops have a magnetic power cable, so they don't get pulled of the dsk by accident. Apple design both the hardware and the software to integrate in a way that PCs just cannot do, sincerely BECAUSE of the range of stuff out there - PCs find it difficult and slow to standardise. Plus, macs look GREAT.

Pipe - smoke it.

Support? On a PC, which of the billion forums do you go to for advice?. On a Mac? Apple discussions site. NEVER have I interacted with a more well-informed, helpful and rabidly fanatic client-base.

Too -blam!-ing true. I hate to jump back in this, but it's just too good.

Video Conferencing - I don't see a reason to ever use that.
Photo Albums - I don't take photos, thus this feature is useless as well.
iTunes - I don't listen to music much, but Winamp has all that I need.
Pod-Casting - Useless to me.
Web Design - Again, useless.
Movie Editing - Windows Movie Maker does all that I need, so this is yet another useless feature.
Music Creation - Useless.

Useless?

Oh, wait, NOW I remember.

It's not useless, it's useless to YOU.

You must be one of those narrow minded folks, with the "I don't need it, so it's CRAP" mindset. Since you have no use for it, it's useless. So, let me ask.

Since when is YOUR word final?

Did you ever even THINK that there are people who would find that useful? I'm one of them! So, let's go into them in detail.

Video Conferencing - Don't use it, but it's certainly not useless.
Photo Albums: I've had a digital camera for about four years now, and I've got over two thousand photos in iPhoto. So, hey, I guess that's useful to me!
iTunes - Much easier to use than Winamp. Not to mention The iTunes Music Store integrated into it.
Podcasting - I don't make podcasts, but I buy them. So, I guess I can use that!
Web Design - So, I guess if web design is so useless, you would be perfectly fine without the internet. Again, another thing I don't use, but loads of people find it useful, and I'm considering starting it.
Movie Creation AND Editing - You can't even compare Windows Movie Maker to iMovie. iMovie is LOADS better. Don't even get me started. iMovie is a part of iLife, so it's integrated with the other iApps. In it, you can upload your raw footage in, put in transitions between scenes, put in effects, add music and sound effects, titles, keep markers to help keep track of scenes, and put it through to iDVD, where you design and create a DVD, and that's not even all it can do! I've made dozens upon dozens of home movies in iMovie, so, I guess I can use this! Go figure!
Music Creation - So, I guess if that's useless, no one in the world wants to create their own music. That's a big generalization, don't you think? Again, I've made dozens of songs, remixed some, and just used it to test certain tracks I play on my keyboard. So, Oh no! Can it be? I can use this!

So, what you said is kinda nullified now.

Video Conferencing: Can do that with windows...
Photo Albums: Can do that with windows...
iTunes: Works for windows...
Podcasting: Can do that with windows since Ipod works on both OS's
Web Design: Can do that with windows...
Movie creation and editing: Can do that with windows...
Music creation: can do that with windows...

So really all you've done is say a bunch of junk that while Mac can do it and maybe well enough. Windows can do it just fine as well. So really you've made absolutely no point there.

Again you bring no corroborating evidence that Mac is better. Just another load of biased opinions. This is getting pretty old.

Ach! Was ist los?

There is no such thing as a perfect computer. If there were, it would have driven all the others out of the market already.

I'm going to lock this since it's gotten very ugly and certain people are suffering from a bad case of Amigua Persecution Complex. A couple of you might have even gotten week-long vacations if I hadn't taken out my Banmatic's bolt for cleaning.

Platform wars are pointless and stupid. Don't get involved in them. Thou hast been warnt.
