Subject: Should formal education ever end?

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Most Americans go from kindergarten to 12th grade. From that group, many go on to a formal bachelor program. Others keep going to a master's degree, or even a doctorate. But why should anyone stop? Maybe there should be incentive to stay educated for as long as possible.

I'm not saying a full daytime program. Maybe one weekend day, or 2 evenings a week. The subject could be one of your choosing, but attendance would be made so attractive that it's thought of as mandatory. Maybe a 50% reduction in taxes or something similar.

Why? People make uninformed decisions. While it isn't a good idea to educate them on what the correct decision is, you can educate them in general, and hope they start to think.

I'm for schooling forever.

I think there comes a point where if you need to go to school to keep on learning new things, you're doing it wrong.

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

Why? There are always new things to learn, and school is a good place to learn them.

Many subjects can only be taught in a classroom setting.

No, you shouldnt even have to attend grade school if you dont want to.

I r guy who gun to teach u lesson

My grandfather is 70 and still goes to college.

Personal choice to keep schooling, but right after "normal" schooling? Definitely not, live your life a little. Maybe once you are older and want to learn/regain new/old skills. That's just me though.

Many subjects can only be taught in a classroom setting.

Only for very specified applications.

In general knowledge is best absorbed through daily life, and if you need to keep going back to a learning centre to keep up to date with what new things there are to learn then you are going wrong somewhere.

People don't go to college to learn new things. They go so they're prepared to get a job.

If I could get a 6 figure paying job without schooling. I wouldnt go. I have no interest in learning. All I want is that piece of paper

Nope. You are incorrect sir.

Think of a community college. That's the kind of courses I am talking about.

That's not what I meant but I guess it can be taken from what I said.

+1 for you good sir.

Schooling forever is a good thing, IMO. I don't have any points at the top of my head, but i'm sure there is an endless list of reasons why it's a good thing.

Furthering your skill set allows you to be in a position to ask for more money.

Fair play

School in general, past high school seems like a waste of time IMO.

It prevents me from actual work. As a police officer, I don't need an excessive education in math and literature. These subjects were always a waste of time and brain cells IMO.

They call me graland.

Stay in college for your entire life? What a spectacularly stupid idea.

If that's your opinion on the matter okay, but I am not just gonna take "You are incorrect sir." as fact, my good man.

Yes people go back to school to achieve a bachelors, or doctorate or masters.

Once they have the piece of paper, they can make more money.

My mom went to night school to get her masters. She didnt enjoy it. But she did it to make more money.

I've yet to meet anyone who loves the academic aspect of college.

I prefer casual education.

Theres only so much a book can teach you, you have to learn everything else from experience. Whats the point of learning if you can't see its applications?

Major props to my hommie Sheeef. He made Recon possible for me. Long time recovering emails and passwords. And it was his. lol.

Sure if it doesn't turn into a Socialistic manner.

I'm beginning to think that many of you would make up whatever excuse to not set foot in a classroom.

I said A) Its voluntary. B) did I mention its voluntary? Cause I don't think I did.

Really, I am arguing for a tax credit for people who take a minimum course load. I can only see good thing coming out of a more educated society.

Nothing too hardcore, just a class a semester, at nights or on weekends. You pick it, and attend.
