Subject: Would You like to buy my neigbors house

I think I'll stay in Edinburgh just now thanks...

That's a nice house though, Scotland is great for properties like that.

OP is just lonely and thinks a floodian neighbor would change this, but it would not.

But I can't deny the house is good looking.

Interesting, but it looks like the house could use a new roof, windows, and flooring, along with a lot of repainting and baseboard replacement.

And I'd immediately get rid of those drab old lady curtains, carpet and that wallpaper.

But it's an absolutely beautiful property, and with some updates, the house would look great.

I like villages. When I was living in Lebanon I used to stay in Tibnin. It is a village in the South. The shower was outside but it was still a great place.

Honestly, that's a really nice house. But I can't stand places that have had elderly people live in them for a long period of time, the smell gets to me.

A lot of European property looks dated like that, especially through American eyes.

I would have a hard time adjusting to European housing.

Hey, isn't that where James Bond killed Silva?

Well, OP did say the the previous owners died...

Looks like a nice house, but the outside is creepy as hell.

Well, I'd do it to get the smell of 102 year old lady out of the house more than anything. Might as well touch up the furnishings while you're at it. Also, I doubt the roof and such has been maintained very well. Don't want leaks and drafts showing up a couple months after you move in.

I've been all over Europe brah. The UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Montenegro, Croatia, Switzerland. The UK is indeed less so, but even new construction there isn't comparable to American homes here, especially in lower-mid price ranges ($150-500,000).

That and the fact that as an American, I'm used to large open floorplans and massive master bedrooms/bathrooms. That really hasn't caught on in Europe in detached housing - you'll find open floorplans in newer apartments, but they carry large pricetags.

Don't forget bigger kitchens. An up-to-date, open kitchen is what sells houses here in NA.

Sterotypical upper middle class American home. For sale probably 5 minutes from me.

Comparable property in Liverpool

Similar price, but you can tell the difference in sizing of rooms and the compartmentalization typical of European homes. The master bedroom in that Liverpool home is 14x10 - here it is 16x14.5. That is almost double the size. The smallest bedroom in the American home is 14x11.
