I've been banned from 4chan since September and I didn't care about it because the site kinda sucked anyway. I wanna change my IP and I've never done it before. Can I land any trouble with my ISP or anything?

Hate to break it to you, bud, but your IP is assigned to you from your ISP.

Changing your IP does nothing.

I know how to do it but I don't know if I can get in trouble for doing it.

Yes it is. Your external IP is assigned by your ISP. Your internal IP is assigned by your router or network admin.

Use a proxy.
Can anyone recommend me a proxy that would change my IP in general, and not just while browsing the internet?

Yes, IP is assigned by ISPs, but you can change it if that IP is dynamic. Whether it is or not depends on what ISP you use. If it is, unplug your router (if you have one) and modem and let them set for 5 minutes. If that doesn't work, you probably have static IP.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I would change my IP after I went on /4/chan

That happens periodically anyway with a dynamic IP. If he was banned months ago and still is, his IP is static.

Most ISPs assign IP addresses statically. Your only option is to request a change from them, and you'll need a better excuse than "I was IP banned from X website."

Power cycling your modem does not reset your IP address; for some reason, so many on here believe that it does.

Very few ISPs use dynamic IPs anymore because it puts unnecessary strain on their DHCP servers.

I'd bet my life that those 4chan users are using a proxy, VPN, or spoofing their IP in some other form.

Actually, more and more ISPs are switching to Dynamic. Most people ban evade on 4chan by simply cycling their modem.
