Okay.

Well I am an omnivorous upper-middle class Caucasian who just felt motivated enough to post how completely normal and indifferent I am in society.

Or is it because you know you don't know what you're talking about and you actual studies would go over your head? Try Google Scholar (if you can handle it).
There and there. Google scholar is quite useful. Still though you asked for negative effects and those are perfectly good. Anyway why should anyone need to take supplements? I live and breath on meat and I have never needed any supplement of any kind for a dietary issue; unless you can provide proof that the majority of people on Balanced diets need supplements I'm just gonna list that one as BS. If you are referring to people with unhealthy diets than that has absolutely no relevance.

Nothing I say is "made up on the spot" Humans were meant to eat meat; it may have no relevance to you but apparently its not a fact that a being Vegan is less suited to the human body so I kinda have to bring it up.

Yes the diet has its benefits but it also has many adverse effects and inconveniences. I be a little more accepting of these drawbacks if I didn't think Veganism is completely and utterly pointless.

Also I found that little comment you made at the end amusing.

Vegans still kill plants. Poor defenseless plants.

Sir I can't help but get the sense that you don't want to really talk about this, you want to "nail" me.

However, eliminating all animal products from the diet increases the risk of certain nutritional deficiencies. Micronutrients of special concern for the vegan include vitamins B-12 and D, calcium, and long-chain n3 (omega-3) fatty acids.

Dietary intake of vitamin D was significantly lower in vegan

You can take a multivitamin to fix that. Problem solved.

There shouldn't be any "problem" in the first place. Nothing should be taken to fix anything.

Just because you eat a vitamin doesn't mean it is absorbed.

As little as 1-5% of vitamins/minerals are absorbed when you take a pill, compared to 80-95% when eating food that contain the vitamin/mineral.

Take a 1000mg calcium pill? You'll be lucky to get 10mg absorbed.

And that is even before you take into account vegetarian/vegan diets create problems in vitamin absorption, like iron.

Uneducated people in this thread.

Why not? Most of us aren't eating a balanced diet everyday, vegan or not.

The Internet is an empowerment tool that's agnostic; it doesn't care about race, gender, or age.

How does one live without consuming meat?

How can you tell somebody is a vegan. You don't have to be able to tell, they'll make sure you know it!

Colorado State research

NY Times article

While the homeopathic vitamin industry loves to exploit the facts regarding absorption rates to pitch their products, that doesn't make the facts any less true that nutrient uptake from food is much higher than any pill form.

Enjoy not fully physically developing like you should for a normal human. Vegan dietary habits do not coincide with proper growth/maturation of the human body.

Okay... where does it say you only absorb 5% of a multivitamin? Find that for me. Thanks.

Funny thing is that was watching some tv show that said when taking pills you only get a fraction of what the pill is supposed to be giving

Pretty sure that doctor from Oprah that has his own show now said that or at least one of his guests

Yes, they are.

I never said that people who eat balanced diets need supplements. That would be BS, if I had said it.

What if you end up needing to take medicine that lowers cholesterol? That's a risk of eating a lot of meat.

Just because something has risks doesn't mean that it is "less suited to the human body". Humans are "meant to" eat certain chemicals, where those chemicals come from is irrelevant. They don't have to come from meat.

Yes the diet has its benefits but it also has many adverse effects and inconveniences. I be a little more accepting of these drawbacks if I didn't think Veganism is completely and utterly pointless.

That is your opinion, which you are certainly entitled to. Oddly enough, I agree with your opinion, actually. I don't care about what happened to my lunch before I eat it (as long as it hasn't been contaminated with anything). But I accept that my diet has its risks and I also don't have a problem with the diet of anyone else. If my sisters want to be vegetarians, I'm not going to try to tell them what the human body is "meant" to do because that's pointless.

Also I found that little comment you made at the end amusing.

I'm glad my humor isn't going unappreciated.
