Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

-Me

So I started working out with my football team and it has been brutal. Not the weightlifting so much as the core exercises. I have gained 5 pounds in the week that I have been doing this. 5 pounds might not sound like a lot, but for me to gain 5 pounds in only a week is amazing. I didn't break 100 pounds till late freshman year.

I drink whey protein in the morning mixed with milk, at lunch and after workouts with water and at dinner with milk again. I haven't had soda since I started working out, and trust me it was the hardest part of it so far. Once you stop though your body starts craving water. I still have a while to go but I can't wait for the end results.

So for discussion value, if anyone here is thinking about working out or is going to work out and would like to know what the first couple workouts does to your body, please feel free to ask. I thought I was in shape until these workouts .

5 pounds in a week? That's impossible. You have a measuring error somewhere.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

Keep stretching. That's the best thing you can do.

no it isn't. You should see the amount of food and protein I'm taking in

Congrats on the weight gain and everything. I've got a naturally slender build too and I'm going to start Muay Thai when my schedule allows it. I remember soccer when I used to play and I still remember those first couple of workouts when you really realize how out of shape you are.

If you weigh yourself after eating, then you're doing it wrong. Usually you weigh yourself in the morning.

Lifting things up and putting them down helps.

I'm not weighing myself after eating. and to the soccer guy, that is my main sport, but the workouts are nothing compared to football so far

I want to start working out again, I'm not going to do it in school because the football coach is a -blam!-. Maybe I'll take up boxing again.

your weight will vary anywhere from 2-8 pounds daily dude. water and food and poop you have to take it all into account. if you actually did gain 5 pounds in a week almost all of it would be fat.
