Subject: Is Your Weight Ideal For Your Height?

I have a question - rather than achieving my ideal weight can I not just lose fat to have that very nice build? AKA. Muscle training + Cardio

You'll gain weight from the muscle, so you'd probably end up in the same range.

OT: I'm about 165, my ideal is 170 and I'm in the healthy range. Also, my BMI is right in the middle of the healthy range too.

Boltshot = mini shotgun

The ideal weight for a 6'4" male is 183 lbs. I'm 50 lbs underweight..

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

6", 147-183lbs with an ideal estimate 165lbs.

That's something like 70-90kg off the top of my head, and I'm 75kg. Aww yeah!

Check out The Game Lounge

I am a skinny dude.

Healthy weight for 6'4" is 184.

lol

Is this for weakling basement dwellers?

  • 12.04.2012 8:40 PM PDT

-I was here

according to both links, I'm a bit on the underweight side.

Well, not exactly, at 6'1 and 185 lbs I'm a little over it's recommended 170. But that is muscle mass, not fat, so I'm not actually worried about it at all.

Thing is though is that I am over my ideal weight. Therefore, would it suffice for me to just lose a lot of my body fat but gain muscle as well? Therefore, while I may not reach that weight it will be supplemented by muscle?

AUSSIE JOSHY

My ideal weight is 174 but I'm 181.
It's all good though 'cause I'm 8.8% body fat.

  • 12.04.2012 8:51 PM PDT

6'2" 183 lbs

Recommended is 174.
BMI is currently 23.5.

What's funny is that I'm bulking, and I'm nowhere near where I want to be.

  • 12.04.2012 8:52 PM PDT

Physical from my physician states my BMI is around 19...

Yet I'm above my ideal weight weighing 185 lb and 5'11"

I intend to reach 190 by summer however...

It says I should be 156, I am 154.

Wake me, when you need me.

It says my ideal weight is 165 and that's exactly where I'm at for my height.

Just to tell you how absolutely retarded these things are, Sidney Crosby is 32lbs outside the recommended range. He's an elite NHL player. The ONLY thing that should matter is your Body fat%. Other than that, it's just garbage.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

My ideal weight is 180lbs for my height, I'm 230lbs now and I'm in shape. I eat a controlled diet and train regularly.

Ideally this index wants me to be painfully skinny in order to "Healthy"

  • 12.05.2012 4:14 AM PDT

Ew, my username. :C

I came up with it when I was 10.

Minimum recommended was 139, maximum was 173. Ideal was 156. Don't know how much I weigh.

If you hate on rap it is simply because you are not cultured enough to understand it.

That chart is ridiculous. It gives nearly a 40 lb range for "healthy body weight". That is wildly inaccurate. I'm shocked some of you kids say you still fall below their recommendations. Go eat something twigs.
