"If you want to test a man's character, give him power" -- Abraham Lincoln

Because they think they are entitled to a private good of a certain quality when they really aren't.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

Because gamers of this generation are entitled twits that thing they are owed something just because they played the company's last release.

OP needs to give an example...

When ME3 came out, people complained about the day 1 DLC being a rip off and then loads of people bought it anyway.
Nobody would have complained if it wasn't a valuable piece of content. People bought it over their own protests because it was such an important piece of the universe- in that case a Prothean. The outrage was over the fact that they're holding such an important piece over the fans for no reason other than to make money, instead of including it in the base game itself.

As for the complaints about publishers, publishers start doing the -blam!- people complain about AFTER fans have already bought content related to it. When you're invested in a series, people want to see it through. I would have been outraged if the 7th Harry Potter book was $70. Does that mean I never would have bought it? No.

The change comes from the fact that when people complain, when that investment is finished they don't purchase more products. For example. I'm done with Bioware. But I want to finish Dragon Age because I like the story. So I'll buy the next Dragon Age, but I won't buy any other Bioware products.

It's really simple.

Please do not send me group invites.

Publishers and developers will stop selling you crap games with rehashed content and piss-poor excuses for DLC [that probably should have been in the original game] if you stop buying every release they pump out. When they know you'll buy Halo [X] and Call of Duty [X] no matter what is in it, they don't care; they'll sell it to you because they know you'll buy it.

Voice your concern with your wallet.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Big time. "We want cutting edge HD graphics, intuitive AI, strong writing, an engrossing MP and replayibility for at least 200 hours, and we want it for free or on the cheap".

It was no more valuable than most other pieces of DLC.

I very strongly disagree. Not only do I think that the from ashes dlc was one of the best things about Me3, but it was integrated seamlessly into the experience, rather than being stand-alone like most dlc. The fact that one of the most vital parts of that game was locked behind a paywall is just completely crazy.

That is all the fault of the consumer.

Publishers and developers aren't blame-free, though. They CHOOSE to half-ass games. Imagine what kind of content we could be getting if they actually cared about the product they were producing, rather than how many commas are in their checks!

Oh no, you used the e word! What have you done?!

I think it's kind of low to charge people for content on the disc, but I just don't buy it. I vote with my wallet, pretty simple.

Not related to DLC, but sometimes publishers leave us buyers in kind of nasty situations though. I love the Devil May Cry series, but I'm just not a fan of Ninja Theory's approach to DmC, so I'm not buying it. The problem is that Capcom doesn't know if I'm skipping it because I dislike Ninja Theory or if I'm just tired of the series. If I do buy it, am I sending Capcom the message that I like Ninja Theory or that I like the DMC series? I don't really like the fact that if it bombs it could mean the death of a franchise I do like and if it does well, I may never get one in the style of the previous two titles again.

Gamers can be some of the most self entitled group of brats in existence.

That should clear everything up.

The amount of gamers who are actually good consumers are very small compared to the amount of gamers who are bad consumers.

The good consumers are being punished because there are too many people who simply don't care about quality. The good consumers that vote with their wallet have every right to complain, while those that buy everything developers release shouldn't complain.
