Let's be honest, the last time we had great Star Wars games, we were using PS2 and Xbox controllers. KOTOR, Battlefront, Jedi Academy, Republic Commando were damn great games for Star Wars lovers and beyond.
Lately it's been obvious what LucasArts has been doing with their IPs.
First off; It's clear LucasArts has been catering to the younger crowd of Star Wars (i,e marketing the targeted audience) Kinect Star Wars and Star Wars Republic Heros had no desire to actually be made but to sell to the parents who watch The CGI series or whatever way the Star Wars franchise is heading.
Which brings me to my second fear that the Battlefront, KOTOR, RC, Outcast/Academy will not expand, Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm/art.
Yeah 1313 is still made and we have no clue what First Assault is but I have a fear that the projects after those two games will be once again downgraded.
I loved those games (BF,RC,KOTOR) but I fear after 1313 is done, LucasArt will try to cater to the newer audience even though, ironically, it is Star Wars' older fanbase that kept many of the games and the franchise of Star Wars alive.
1313 is living proof that the fanbase is still there but I fear Star Wars games after that will see a major downgrade, similar to this generation.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this matter?
