Fallout 3. No contest.

THIS IS HALO!And Pizza FTW!!!

Fallout 3 is more dark and depressing, but exploration is bette, especially with add ons. New vegas is more laid back, and there's more stuff to do, but the add ons form a great story line.

I find Fallout New Vegas has more variety in terms of content, quests, DLC and just about everything else. The best bits of FO3's modding community is in New Vegas.

Fallout 3 has less variation but is harder and is more serious. It's got a strong emphasis on survival, whereas New vegas is more just being a kiss arse for various factions.

Personally, I'm enjoying New Vegas more at the moment, but you should really get both.

I think you have the two games mixed up. New Vegas was WAAAY harder than 3. Try reaching max level in both games, then go into a Deathclaw infested area. See how long you last in Vegas (not long).

NOTE: This is my new primary account. My old account was AgentCOPP1, and I changed it because it was linked to a gamertag that I no longer use.

Yeah I would say Fallout 3. It has more "this is freaking awesome" moments than New Vegas. Not to say that New Vegas isn't a good game, but Fallout 3 has more things to do, and more of a diversity. If at all possible, I would get both.

Hardcore mode and ADS make Vegas superior IMO.

You get less frequent perks, the quest are not as interesting, and you have to play the game 4 times to get every achievement. Sure is superior.

Less perks means more replayability because it makes the end characters more varied. Quests are just a matter of opinion, I like Vegas's more. Not everyone cares about achievos and they really shouldn't be considered when you are talking about the quality of a game.

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

Fallout 3 GOTY but you seriously should get both :D

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.

Fallout 3. Cheaper and just so much more refined with a much better atmosphere.

While both are great New Vegas is the better game for me with the factions, way more quests than FO3 (there's very few quests in FO3 they aren't achievements whereas in NV there's only a few quest related achievements), better variety of enemies, no subway travels required, choosing perks means you actually have to think about picking them (and despite the fact you can only pick one every other level you only have 5 less perks than FO3 does overall not a big deal), much better variety of weapons/armor, again no stupid subways needed to access remote areas galore like virtually all of Washington D.C. . Old World Blues DLC alone makes NV the better game.

  • 12.05.2012 1:05 PM PDT

I'd say Fallout 3 because I played that one first, but honestly it doesn't matter if you've played neither before.

Whichever you played first is going to be your favorite, fact.
