I always thought since the first time playing SW: The force unleashed that Starkiller (SK) was portrayed to be WAY stronger than he actually should've been portrayed.
The problem I have is that he is portrayed as almost a human with UNLIMITED FORCE CAPABILITIES. It's SW gone full retard IMO, and Jar Jar wasn't even full retard to me, quite close though. I mean it's getting the DC/Marvel Superhero effect placed onto the universe of jedi.
We keep making our heroes stronger and stronger, until they reach omnipotentcy and immortality. Then the story isn't fun anymore, no suspense, no danger. There is a reason our heroes are supposed to be able to die, because our heroes are supposed to struggle against adversity, to achieve success. A hero is called a hero becuase by definition it means:
remarkably brave person: somebody who commits an act of remarkable bravery or who has shown an admirable quality such as great courage or strength of character
A hero isn't brave, or even couragous if he knows he isn't going to die. He's operating well within his means and doing something as easy as addition. It's like admiring Hulk cause he can become angry. In fact Hulk isn't even a hero in my eyes, he's just a ball of hate and rage, typical of a villian.
Starkiller breaks the universe IMO because it shows that the Jedi should never fear death, ever. There is no sacrifice that they make. Because at the end of the day it was just 1+1 for them. They weren't brave to face adversity if they have potentially infinite force ability. But the problem is, they don't. It is why all of the other jedi are portrayed as heroes. The sith can even be defeated, so there is always a probable chance of success no matter how slim, and the heroes will sacrifice everything for that slim victory.
Starkiller isn't a hero, nothing of the word. He tarnishes everything a jedi, or even a sith stand for. Unlimited energy is just ludicrous. It is why I hate the way he was implemented into SW, and then portrayed as a good guy. He is an accident, like the Hulk. Sombody that shouldn't have existed. And sombody that shouldn't ever have been introduced into their respective universes.
inb4: anything related to the length of my post.
