Subject: Is Starkiller too OP for the SW universe?

Online Gaming's pretty much like a zombie movie. There are a lot of mindless idiots roaming around but you find some survivors on the way.

It's quite clearly stated Luke is what Anakin should have become. The most powerful Jedi of all time.

This is where I disagree with you. At the end Anakin did destroy the sith lord, he did save the world from evil, and he did continue the jedi order...at the very end of his life.

...Luke kind of re established the Jedi Order. But I understand and respect your opinion.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Well, he doesn't hold back.

He's more powerful in the game than he is in any other media. The game is called the force unleashed for a reason. Still doesn't explain how he handed darth vader's ass to him twice. 3 times in the non-canon ending of the first game.

It's kind of sad that the third game is going to be in development hell now.

We keep making our heroes stronger and stronger, until they reach omnipotentcy and immortality. Then the story isn't fun anymore, no suspense, no danger.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

Nerf! Nerf it now!

Take me into your heart! Accept me as your savior! Nail me to the -blam!- cross, and let me be reborn!

There are more powerful Jedi/Sith in the SW Universe. SK may be powerful, but stacked up against other powerful Force users (Palpatine, Emperor from TOR, Sith Triumvate, Revan, Luke, etc.) I don't think he is the best of the best.

No I haven't. And if the character becomes a god I'd hate to play that game.

Nah, he's just fine.

Part of the whole point of TFU was to portray the Force in an extremely exaggerated light, something we had never seen or heard of before in any film, book, or game. This was stated multiple times throughout the game's development cycle.

Take every Force user and put them into TFU's over exaggerated presentation of the SW universe and they will all be impossibly strong Jedi or Sith.

Luke is the most powerful Jedi ever, even when compared to Starkiller.

Aside from moving capital ships and crumbling up walkers with the Force not much else seems out of place in the games. And if Starkiller could achieve these feats, than Luke, Jacen, and every Jedi or Sith that is known to be more powerful than Starkiller can too.

It's just that no one ever wants to portray the Force in that way, outside of TFU, because we would have no reason to fear for our heroes and villains' fates.

You have to remember it's a video game. So it's obviously over-done.

For instance nothing he does in the cinematics seems OP to me. It's just in-game that it seems that way. It's just hard to translate from one Media to another.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Jedi should never fear death, ever.
Yeah, that's about right actually.

Besides, despite being "OP," he still fights on an even ground with all of the enemies he comes up against. Not to mention the fact that he actually did die.

"Living to smile, and not to succeed; smiling to inspire happiness, not to give the illusion you are happy; creativity and music to inspire smiling, which in turn inspires happiness; being nice to be happy, not for being perceived a good person."

But Jedi do expect to die. They realize that even with their connection to the force, even with all their high tech weaponry and abilities, that in the end there will probably always be someone better than you. Look at all the scourges led against them. It would be crazy for them to think that they, and their Order, were omnipotent and invincible. Some do think that, but those are usually only the young and cocky members.

Galen Marek (aka Starkiller), is neither a Jedi or a Sith in the first place. He might have began as one, but eventually due to being betrayed and whatnot, he instead became an opportunist, not bound by the restrictions of either Jedi or Sith. Marek isn't as all powerful as you might think anyway. He is more of Anakin Skywalker in terms of power and ability, but unlike Anakin, was given everything he might need to become more powerful.

Oh one more thing, SW canon is a monkey -blam!- free for all, and should be regarded as such. I find Star Wars enjoyable from time to time, but I can't take it seriously.
