"If you want to test a man's character, give him power" -- Abraham Lincoln

343 sucks hard at storytelling. You're gonna tell me now Cortana isn't dead? And I bet the Didact didn't die either because HURR DURR HE'S TALKING AT THE END.

He's not dead because he fell through the slipspace event hur durr watch the cutscenes.

Or you suck at understanding the story. It's abundantly obvious why he's alive at the end.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

As for the Didact, doesn't he have the ability to jump into slipspace at will?

If he can basically teleport, then why is it such a stretch for him to have avoided the blast?

All he has to do is jump wherever he wants to.

Wake me when the jews are gone.

would agree with you but for me at least blackeaglex99's theory makes more sense now, maybe they will bring her back as a durandal style vilain/secondary character but i'd prefer an acient human.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

When will we see the the Precursors come test humanity for the mantle?

They said we had 100,000 years

I don't see you doing anything to help our country.
Except sitting at home, naked, eating twinkies, rubbing your hands together going "Heh. Target Destroyed. Mission Accomplished." Oh wait. that's not helping.

I will post my theory from a thread I had a few days ago

I have finally gotten around to finishing Halo: Primordium. I haven't finished it entirely yet, but while reading something popped out at me. Some humans in the books are imprinted with a Geas, which is essentially a control mechanism the Forerunners use over them. However, others were given the memories of ancient humans that basically "live" inside of their head. They are able to take control of the host body and speak through them if allowed or if they are strong enough to break the hosts control. Otherwise they just live and can communicate with the host.

Master Chief was imprinted with an "evolutionary upgrade" in Halo 4 by the Librarian. It is entirely possible that he has a currently dormant ancient human living inside of him now. If this is the case it would help to fill the void of Cortana and to explain her death a little better, because lets be honest having 3 voices living in one person would be awful and annoying. So if this is the case I believe Halo 5 will be based around this ancient human awakening and either helping or trying to gain control of the Master Chief.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Halo 5, I reckon. The "Reclamation", mentioned by the Didact in the Epilogue, seems to suggest that this is possibly the name of the Precursors' test for the Mantle - this is what the Didact was gearing up for by composing humanity, after all.

Am I the only one who wants to see Captain Del Rio get yelled at by Lord Hood?

I'll be honest, when first I heard that monologue, I thought it applied to both periods, mankind post Halo 3 and now H4, and when we first encountered the Forerunners. But claiming Forerunner stuff as our own, and beginning our Reclamation... that's 2557, not 100,000+ BCE.

As for Cortana, I'm wondering whether the Didact will do to some of her what the Precursor and/or Gravemind did to Mendicant Bias back in the day.

Can someone tell me why the dick a Slipspace event under the Composer was actually necessary?

Apparently, it's to harmlessly fire off excess energy from the composition process without annihilating the presumably nearby user. Much like vents on a microwave, I guess.

Why are you here?

Not sure if they will do it in Spartan Ops, I imagine them either doing it halfway through Halo 5 or in Halo 6.

Cortana can't be dead.

Halo is MC and Cortana and what happens around them...Not MC alone with "Roland".

Resurrecting her would be the most retarded move 343i could make, right next to killing her in the first place.

Its obvious that they will resurrect her.

hope to god they don't
