I guarantee Israel has whole fighter wings on standby right now.
Honestly, it's probably best Israel not get involved in anyway. It's similar to the same situation in the first and second Gulf War. It may not look good to other Arab/Muslim states if the only Jewish state in the world starts attacking an Arab state.
I know, but the news of a longtime enemy preparing to deploy WMDs would be enough to put them on high alert.

They won't attack unless directly threatened, but if one of Syria's bombs "accidentally" happens to land in Israeli territory, they will throw everything they have at Assad.

But if they're only deployed within Syrian borders, they'll let NATO take the lead.
I'm sure Israeli fighter jets are already on high alert, as a major concern is that Assad could launch chemical weapons into Israel to prompt an Israeli attack, which in turn they hope would prompt a wider conflict by other Arab nations attacking Israel.

So that's where the Iraq WOMD went...

Are you actually kidding me. More then 1 WOMD can exist in the world. The U.S. Has plenty. There is no evidence and it is actually the stupidest thing I have ever heard to suggest that.

We spent over 8 years looking for it, there wasn't any. They obviously just made it themselves. The Iraq war was a waste and we could have even stopped this current WMD from being developed if we went to war with the right countries.

Why is it stupid? I actually believe it. Saddam used chemical weapons on his own people, he was known to have a stockpile, and as soon as the U.S. starts looking for them, they are gone?

Id bet money they gave them to Syria.

It also makes sense because Assad is member of the Ba'ath party (although there is a difference between the Syrian Ba'athists and the Iraqi Ba'athists).

There was a lot of suspicion during the days following Iraq that Saddam moved the majority of his Chemical weapons to Syria.

What worries me the most is the increasing threat of violence spilling over into other countries. Lebanon, for example, was most recently engulfed in heavy fighting within Tripoli. Outside intervention has the possibility of setting of this powder keg, and I know that this is something that freighting's countries like Iraq and Bahrain nearly to death.

It could have had it's origin in Iraq but the time we got there it was long gone. The Military was using bad and outdated Intel on sites they have though they were still making and hiding weapons.

If the so-called "bad intel" showed that they were hiding weapons, then it wasn't bad intel, now was it? I'm still unconvinced that Saddam didn't try to hide their stockpile of WMD's by sending it to other countries, like Syria for example.

The fact that Syria has the nerve to weaponize Sarin is absolutely sickening. I'd have no problem being drafted to help wipe the Syrian military command off of the face of the earth.

No pun intended with the "nerve" part.

You're implying that I think its okay that the US and those other countries have chemical weapons. I don't think its okay.

And the difference between Syria and the US is that the United States is dismantling their dirty bombs.

Theres a difference between having a stockpile and threatening to use them.

It's not at all a large difference.

One is a verbal threat- the other is a nonverbal one.

1) They are not dirty bombs

2) It did sound like you were okay with the US having it as you are so willing to be drafted to fight one who has them.

If Syria is confirmed to have used a chemical weapon, no one will support them. Not even China or Russia. Even if the weapons work on quelling the rebellion, Assad is finished. He will stand alone with the armies of Mordor breathing down his neck.

Russia is not in bed with Syria- they simply recognise the current government as legitimate and are selling arms.

Russia WILL NOT go to war against any western powers that intervene, they will simply sit it out.

Do it. I TRIPLE dog dare you.

OT: If he does it he'll have a hell storm coming straight for him. If he goes chemical I wouldn't be pissed if NATO got involved. But they should leave after they remove the threat.

Actually, teh puma doubts anyone will do anything for a solid month or up if they did indeed use chemical weapons. We sat back in our seats before, whats to say we wouldn't just sit back for awhile again?

Teh puma isn't very knowledgeable on this subject, but he still doubts anything even near an immediate response would occur. If anything, countries around the world would just make some speeches about it as per usual.

We keep threatening action against Iran if they keep trying to make nuclear weapons yet we won't act against Assad for building chemical weapons? Why the hell must we wait for them to use them?
