Subject: Opinion on wives who have careers instead of their husbands?

Gamertag: AC Mobius

RIP Derek Farley

I'm curious as to the Flood's view on when the woman has the high-paying job while the man raises the family. I'm wondering because this is likely what will happen to me. My fiancée is studying to be in the FBI, and, as we both want a family, will likely have children soon that I will raise.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Go for it, man. If you are happy and she is happy then more power to you. Don't let everyone's stupid remarks get to you about your wife being the breadwinner.

I mean, if you went out and got a minimum wage job your pay check would be doing nothing but going to day care anyway.

Good for you. Children make the world keep going!
As for raising them, I think a traditional man/woman role thing is best, but I do not know how your life works. Maybe this plan is your thing.
Congrats on the whole getting married thing, too. Hope it is as long and happy as possible. (Read: Die with it, don't let it die with a divorce)

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Perfectly normal, there's absolutely no obligation for there to be any segregation of roles in a family - you're all in this together.

Best of luck to both of you. <3

My wife makes more money than I do....Especially since Im still a student and she makes 150k lol

  • 12.05.2012 4:04 PM PDT

I don't see anything wrong with it. I would love to be a stay at home husband.

On the Left

Godshatter: I can go all the way with someone without being attracted to them.
CamCamm: How does that work?
Godshatter: I'm easily aroused by anything that moves. It's a curse.
Brain says 'No, that's ugly', body says 'ugly is fine with me'.

No problem. You can work in the 6moths that she may have off :P

I encourage it. Not women working and men staying home, in particular; but one parent working, and one staying home. I think it's a much better environment for the child to grow up in, rather than being shuttled to daycare every day to essentially be raised by a stranger.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

My wife makes a ton more than I do. She's a divorce attorney that owns her own firm. I still work for a company. So, when I work more, someone else sees the benefit. When she works harder, she sees the benefit. That's why she makes $450k and I make $96k.

I'm not kidding.

Anyways, I also work from home, and will probably be the one who does the majority of the actual raising. Mrs Charlie is a single child, whereas Charlie is from a big family. I'm no stranger to dirty diapers, Mrs Charlie will have problems changing them, as she has never done so before.

One does not simply study to..be in the FBI. You get your degree[s] in a field utilized by the FBI.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Nothing wrong with that, if they make a comfortable living out of it.
