No, people think someone is a troll when they deviate from an opinion that is widely accepted, has some emotional value in the audience, and don't provide and substantive reasons to back up their opinion.
Also, anyone who says that opinions can't be wrong.
So basically you appeal to the agrumentum ad populum fallacy and don't understand the definition of opinion. Right? No, I'm giving credit to the poster. As opposed to thinking that they're stupid, I prefer to think that:
1. They're not stupid
2. They know the forum well enough to know what they are saying is going to get an immediate emotional reaction from some members.
3. They think The members that react immediately will be enough to sustain the thread beyond initial reaction.
I also don't subscribe the belief or doctrine that an opinion can't be wrong. An opinion is simply a belief that a person holds, and it must be properly supported by an argument or enough evidence to have validity.
But that's just my opinion, and if opinion's can't be wrong, then I'm right when they say that they can be wrong.
