The HELL you are! These are precious gifts to me and they are non-transferable! How dare you regift my challenge prize. You might as well hock a wedding ring for beer money. -DeeJ

So about a week ago two rooms in my house flooded with about an inch of water. (Don't ask me how it happened). We moved the furniture and cleaned the water up with towels. Fast forward 5 days and the rooms are unbearable. There is the worst -blam!- smell coming out of them, we are thinking about getting the carpet replaced.

So, was it the water that caused the carpet to smell like this? If so, how?

Also one of the rooms happens to be my bedroom.

Bobcast is paid in MILF blind dates.

The smell is probably from mold.

Please do not send me group invites.

Definitely mold.

If you want the smell gone yes because it is most likely under the padding below the carpet.

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

It's mold. If you don't want to get sick, you'll stay at a hotel while the house is professionally cleaned. How do some people not understand this simple concept?

water + house = bad

If you get a chance to talk to K-Mart, tell him Mabian misses him...

He won't remember me, but it's always nice to let a complete stranger on the internet know that you care.

Sir I can't help but get the sense that you don't want to really talk about this, you want to "nail" me.

Well that would explain why my coughing and runny nose won't go away. Only the two rooms have carpet. Everything else is wood.

Remember those times when we all had something better to be doing, but didn't do it? Those were good times. Gooood times

Its mold. Getting the carpets cleaned will only changed will only fix part of the problem, as some moisture probably entered the wall. To put it simple, there is mold growing in that room in places you wouldn't even think of.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

You should probably get the carpets replaced, because if you can't get liquid out, it will stay in or under the carpet and stink and grow mold etc.

Wood absorbs moisture, so the walls have become a breeding ground for mold and other bad things. If you have wood under the carpet, it's even worse. You should get it looked at by professionals. They may have to replace part of the wall depending on how bad it is.

How did you manage to fill up two rooms with an inch of water?

Broken pipe in my bathroom sink. Horrible mess to wake up too.

OK. Definitely call a professional cleaning company. Get that mold out of the house, or everyone is going to start getting sick. If you can, you should definitely arrange for someone to look at the damage and stay at a hotel while it's being fixed.
