How else do you aquire the online content, without being online *gasp*

You can't download DLC without Gold if I know correctly. (and the episodes count as DLC)

You can download dlc without gold.
Alright well I've been missinformed, but regardless, who in this day and age doesn't have live, who considers themself a regular Xbox player. Hell it's only an $80 bill a year. Not much at all.

You would be surprised. No not just little kids, adults even with jobs. They don't get the thrill knowing that a different console offering them better online capabilities and better exclusives is free to play.

No opinion in that little proclamation, no sir.

Well, I've been economical with the truth.

you mean a PC right, Avenger?

Not just PC but also PS3.
Well the PS3's online being better is questionable, though what if someone bought an Xbox, for the sole purpose of playing Halo.

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

Who said I wanted to play it online? I can't play it At all. Even when connected to xbox live silver.
Perhaps if you hadn't written your OP like enraged twelve-year-old and had actually included this rather important detail, then maybe people wouldn't have been so eager to tear you apart.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

PSN has dedicated servers. XBox is still p2p hosting exceptions to some games but very few.

Which doesn't amount to much. Dedicated servers don't offer a difinitively "better" online play experience. There are far too many variables in place. Stating that PSN offers a better experience than XBL for free is a subjective, debatably false statement.

Still you are getting a internet service that is free and offers the same quality. Sweet I bet you like those ads you pay for on the dashboard.

Questionable? It shouldn't be anymore. The online gives almost the same thing as Xbox live but without ads plastered all over the dashboard.

Okay, these threads are starting to piss me off.

Spartans would not work if it wasn't for xbox live exclusively! The main idea for Spartan Ops was to have a new adventure every week, you get to see the spartan you made fight baddies in new arcs that change weekly. Now how in the world would you get new missions without being connected to xbox live?. It would be impossible to release new content to people who are not connected to the internet ie. most people who do not have xbox live accounts.

Now lets say for some idiotic reason they made it standard. It would be overwhelming. There are missions within episodes WITHIN CHAPTERS. It's crazy to think about exactly how many missions we're going to have in Spartan Ops, and it would overwhelm people if they just had all from the very beginning.

People, this isn't very hard to understand why they made this descision, Spartan Ops needs to be Xbox live exclusive.

You realize that even if they thought we were that dumb, there's an XBL silver?

See the rapist.
I don't like rap.

*facepalm*

It's unintelligent responses in threads like this that remind me I'm too old for this website.

If my Gold runs out, and I revert to silver while still being online, I'm not allowed to play?

That's complete bull-blam!-, why should I pay monthly for a single-player experience?

I can't understand all the hate for Halo 4. I mean yes, there is a bunch of stuff I'd like ironed out. All in all though, it's a pretty fantastic game! It simply feels like a Halo game should, and I enjoy it for what it is.

It's technically a multiplayer experience, but I understand where you are coming from. It should be available to people who want to play spartan ops individually, regardless of the status of their xbox live membership.

The first ten weeks should be accessible to all who have made purchase of Halo 4. Simple as that.

Don't try to argue with a fanboy. They will perform whatever mental olympics necessary to justify in their minds that they didn't bet on the wrong horse. Moreover, they need to convince other people that they did misplace their bet.

No need to throw around insults simply because someone pointed out a flaw in your arguement. Once again, "same quality" is a subjective view point. I've seen roughly as many negative criticisms towards PSN as I have seen plugs for it. Personally I have had multiple issues with PSN stability, sometimes it runs fine, other times not so much. The P2P system on XBL ensures that as long as XBL supports the title, gamers can still play it independant of 3rd party hardware. P2P and servers have their pro's and cons.

I am a multiplatform gamer, I follow the games not the consoles, but I also have the ability to see things for what they are. PSN isn't free because "it should be free" it's free because Sony had a massive gap to close between them and MS. But now that that gap has pretty much vanished, Sony has painted themselves into a corner as they cannot very well start charging for something that they have been giving away for years. Expecing MS to stop charging because Sony was paying catchup is rather foolish. The ads on XBL are annoying to be sure, but one could make the arguement that their being there may be MS's attempt at preventing another rate hike. Not being able to viwe MS's financials it's kind of hard to say.

Well at least Firefight could be played offline...

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

Spartan Ops is genuinely the most boring gaming experience I have ever had.

Pure Insanity
The point of war is not to die for one's clan, but it's to make the other bastard die for his
Right before you die, there is always a chance to save yourself, sieze that chance and live to fight another day
The best way to kill someone is to fight them with the same weapons they use and make them know you are better than them, not because of superior weaponry, but because of superior skill.
Hidden in the shadows, Clothed in camo, Armed to the teeth. Hunting.

No.
