Should I feel like a moron for not knowing who the OP is talking about?

Don't worry, I have no clue either. Theres a difference between not caring about the muddle in our world and being a idiot, although some will say not much of one. Lets just keep watching american dad and being who we are, k?

You can search on Youtube too if you'd like, regardless of Assad's actions, many of the rebels in Syria are foreigners, not all, but many who want to use this for their own purposes.

This isn't a case of Assad vs Syrians, it's a case of some Syrians+Assad vs some Syrians+foreign rebels

I offer this as a rebuttal.

If you're honestly going to ignore proven facts about the leader of this country's actions, then there's no point in arguing with you.

Wat.

Maybe because Assad is an oppressive dick that kills his own population en masse for mundane reasons?

He is right about most of the Rebels being foreign. Plus the Muslim Brotherhood wants Assad to fall so they can take power. Thats why so many from other countries go to Syria to fight for the Rebels

You realize there are always going to be supporters on both sides of the spectrum, right? In all of those pictures you just posted, those were pictures of Pro-Assad Syrians. What you're trying to do is make it seem like the overwhelming majority of Syrians are Pro-Assad, because he's some kind of god. The fact is, that's not true. More and more of his own people and supporters defect to their rebel side each day, why? Because he's not as good as you make him out to be. You're right about one thing though. There are foreigners within the ranks of the Syrian rebels. You left out a few things though. There are also foreigners on the side of Assad (Iran and Hezbollah, for example), and the ratio of foreigners to Syrians involved in this conflict is widely in favor of the Syrians.

Well, there are all of the human rights violations, and the fact that he holds dictatorial control of the country. I don't know about you, but I generally think those are bad things.

And that fact alone makes Assad a swell guy.

It must be propaganda because it contradicts your idea that all Syrians see him as an evil dictator. I never said he was a great man. He probably did do awful things. But the country was stable until people started saying "our neighbours are ousting their leaders, let's do it too." There are some Syrians who support him (not just military, regular folks) and some who hate him. It's not like how Western media has tried to portray it.

You know that doesn't change the fact that he's imprisoned, tortured and executed dissidents, or that he's financially disadvantaged (if not crippled) a majority of Syrians? Damascus and Aleppo only constitute about ten or twenty percent of the Syrian population.

You misunderstood what I posted. I'm not trying to say all Syrians love him. I'm saying he is not a monster to every Syrian. Some Syrians like him, some don't. In the Western media, he is depicted as some brutal monster and all Syrians hate him. Those foreigners brought to fight for Assad were only in response to the rebellion, otherwise Syria would be peaceful right now. And I am very doubtful of that there is such a huge margin in the consistency of the rebellion in favour of Syrians vs foreigners.

Yeah, that tends to happen when the only news and media a population gets comes from the government.

Anyways guys, if the country gets overrun by gun toting rebels and Al-Qaeda gets involved, the same people who are against Assad's government right now will then turn around and say that the rebels were wrong after all.

Retaining control of the country and getting more money, mostly.

It's unlikely that any sole political entity will take control.

Our troops are facing towards the Sun,
Stepping on the earth of Motherland,
Carrying the nation's hope,
We are an indomitable power!
Our troops are facing towards the Sun;
Marching towards the final victory
And the liberation of entire country!

Assad is one of the last Arab leaders that has resisted the American Hegemony and as such is being attacked the NATO funded terrorists.

No, I mean some Syrians outside of Syria support him too, not just within Syria.

That seems like a bad strategy to me.
