Why Army? If you have good grades you should go to... well... any other branch probably. Why not Army?I have an Uncle that has been in the Army, Marines, Reserves, and Air Force. No Navy, and all Enlisted. Says the Army was the absolute worst experience of them all. Terrible food, put you doing any job they wanted, far worse facilities than the others (especially on deployments), and I have a few other sources as well (I come from a family of many branches of service... in unison, no matter the branch, I was told Army was not a good choice).
Not to mention Air Force is... just in general a branch of higher standards. I'm not bashing the Army- I have friends in the Army ROTC. But the Air Force is where the really difficult technical jobs are of the most use... the smart guys. Mind you, I'm AFROTC and very biased myself, though I'm not in a technical degree. My roommate is though. Cocky bastard. I'll never admit to those Engineers being smart. He'll always be a dumbass to his face!
:)
Oh, and the Navy detachment for ROTC where I go has a kickass building. Just saying.Air force and Navy are far more technical than the Army and Marines for obvious reasons, their combat arms branches... their entry standards are pretty low but as far as I've witnessed most people joining the two branches are going reserves in order to have their college paid for..nothing long term, most contracts I've seen are 4 year contracts. I have an 8 year contract. Army and Marines are "entry level"...
My family is Navy and me and my Granfather(passed away WWII Vet) are the only ones who joined the Army in the Family...though I don't think he really had a choice in his day.
Also I joined with a group of friends...
