Life will always find a new way to ruin everything you know, enjoy the moments of peace to their fullest and prepare yourself for the lemons that are heading your way and you might just make it.

Yes, go to college, get good grades and apply to RMC, (Royal Military College) and hopefully become a pilot for Canadian forces.

I proudly served 6 years in the U.S. Navy. 2004-2010.

Best decision I've ever made. Not only did I receive my Bachelors while on active duty, my kid already has college paid for courtesy of the military.

That still doesn't mean that every person who enlists must go and kill someone...

That's irrelevant. Not every doctor sees blood. But the vast majority of them do.

Why Army? If you have good grades you should go to... well... any other branch probably.
Why not Army?
I have an Uncle that has been in the Army, Marines, Reserves, and Air Force. No Navy, and all Enlisted. Says the Army was the absolute worst experience of them all. Terrible food, put you doing any job they wanted, far worse facilities than the others (especially on deployments), and I have a few other sources as well (I come from a family of many branches of service... in unison, no matter the branch, I was told Army was not a good choice).

Not to mention Air Force is... just in general a branch of higher standards. I'm not bashing the Army- I have friends in the Army ROTC. But the Air Force is where the really difficult technical jobs are of the most use... the smart guys. Mind you, I'm AFROTC and very biased myself, though I'm not in a technical degree. My roommate is though. Cocky bastard. I'll never admit to those Engineers being smart. He'll always be a dumbass to his face!
:)

Oh, and the Navy detachment for ROTC where I go has a kickass building. Just saying.

Already in...

May I ask what college?
I'm deciding between ULM (University of Louisiana Monroe), since it's closer to where I live; or LSU, mainly because my grandfather lives about an hour away from that area.
If you are serious about having a career in the military, don't go to a college that views ROTC as more of a club than an actual academic and accredited program.

I love you

Yep. My goal is to at the very least make Marine Recon. If I can make it into a Forcon unit or even MARSOC, that's just a plus.

I plan on enlisting into the Marine DEP while I finish high school.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

As of right now, no, but if somewhere down the line I wasn't able to get a job...and if I was in really good shape...I may consider the military...maaaybe.

Air force and Navy are far more technical than the Army and Marines for obvious reasons, their combat arms branches... their entry standards are pretty low but as far as I've witnessed most people joining the two branches are going reserves in order to have their college paid for..nothing long term, most contracts I've seen are 4 year contracts. I have an 8 year contract. Army and Marines are "entry level"...

My family is Navy and me and my Granfather(passed away WWII Vet) are the only ones who joined the Army in the Family...though I don't think he really had a choice in his day.

Also I joined with a group of friends...

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

I'd think I want to, it's experience. Not planning though. I'll start thinking more once I finish a degree.
