Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I think it's a bit of an overkill, a few months should do them in.
I think it should be done away with for the following reasons.
1. people can change
2. Forever is too long
3. Stops Alts from being created
What's your opinion on the matter?

If they break the rules that bad they don't deserve a second chance.

If they feel they have changed there are means to communicate with the moderators in order to appeal. I think the perma-ban should stay.

Bungie doesn't like French on their site.

Don't people normally get a ban and then if anything a perma? So, they do get a second chance. Unless someone gets a perma from the get-go, then..things a different.

  • 12.05.2012 8:39 PM PDT

Change perm's to 777 years.

Everyone's happy.

I think certain things warrant a perma-ban. I doubt they happen very often.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

Posting of flash sites, phishing and illegal content should certainly warrant a permaban. The people who are participating in such activities actively know that what they are doing is against the rules of the site if not most websites and possibly against the law.

Only after we ban Bricypoo.

I agree, I think the ban should wear off after 14 years.

Honestly, permabans are mostly used for spammers who have no intent of changing or for users who do something illegal, so I think they should stay.

It would be ridiculous for them to do away with it completely, there will come a time when there is someone worthy of it. I would not object to an argument for them to use it less. To be honest though, I don't think they even use it that often.

I think the perma ban should really only be used on alt accounts. I agree with the OP.

Good post, you really put up a good argument! Talk about leading by example.

You better close this sig when your done.

I think leaving them in would help prevent trolls from just using their old accounts once the ban is lifted. It forces spammers to go through the process of creating a new account if they want to spam again.

2. Forever is too longNo, it isn't. Sometimes it's not even long enough.

3. Stops Alts from being createdYeah, I don'y really see that. It might cut back on them a bit, but it won't put an end to it, not by a long shot.

The ninjas have a perma-ban button? I thought they just banned users for a incredibly long time, like 93825923845 days.
