Still better than you.
.....most of you, at least.

You didn't seem to catch his bias.
He is attacking the game from a balanced and competitive standpoint. That is where the game is broken, but that is because it isn't designed to be "balanced" and "competitive".
In other words, it really doesn't have a skill gap.
The real problem in his argument is rating it as a "competitive" game in the first place. He is essentially bashing the game for what it isn't.
In other words, blind hate.
However, it is undeniable what the game has done to the FPS genre as a whole.
I am actually disappointed with this game, and it is the first TreyArch game that I am disappointed with.
IMO.
I haven't played BO2 yet, so my opinion may be off. However, it's very hard to achieve balance in a game that isn't based around the arena style. For the most part, form experience, the CoD developers have been pretty good at making it work. Minor issues here and there don't really detract from the game that much, when you always have an option to kill someone a different way. At the competitive level, CoD has always excelled. Especially in the PC community (though obviously CoD 4 is the big draw). However, like most games, this excelling was done because players stripped the game back and down to it's core, removing gimmicks. In that sense, CoD is just like every other game in the competitive scene.
As for what the game "has done to the FPS genre", im confused by what you mean. CoD represents a change in market direction. As multiplayer gaming becomes more popular, it is less about the underground society that focuses on stats, and competition, and more about lots of people joining in to have fun at somethign they play. If this creates a more "casual" experience, then so be it. If other games want to be able to sell, then they have to include this experience, though ideally on top of a competitive one. If they don't, that's the fault of the developers, not CoD as a franchise.
OT: That's really cool. Hopefully I can pick up a copy soon.
