I deliberately omitted characters that don't have a pre-determined path in the narrative, like Commander Shephard, because, really, he or she is you, just like the Dragonborn, etc.

What say you, Flood?

Honourable mentions go to Bayonetta and Ms. 'Splosion Man.

I think... you should define 'this generation.' From when to when?

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

GLaDOS is in this? How old is portal?

  • 12.06.2012 6:33 AM PDT

GLaDOS.

I rarely laugh when gaming. But goddamnit if Portal 1 and 2 aren't the funniest games I've ever played.

As I'm too lazy to think of any others other than those listed, Nathan Drake would be my pick. For being the practical character, he certainly can do impractical things. I like his character traits though.

Current gen as in anything that came out for the 360, PS3, and Wii? What is considered current gen for PC?

OT: Commander Shepard

Please

I suppose it should technically include the PSP and the DS, it's the seventh generation which includes the Xbox 360, Wii and PS3.

After and including Xmas 2005 on PC.

Technically does not include the Vita nor the 3DS, though I can't think of any memorable characters on either of those platforms. Apparently Escape Plan and Sound Shapes are both quite cool.

I actually found Ezio quite boring. It's John for me, rarely does a character actually impress me.

  • 12.06.2012 6:41 AM PDT

My troll sense is tingling.

Mordin Solus, Alan Wake, Ema Skye, Ezio Auditore, Scott Shelby and Clementine.

Andrew Ryan. He is my favorite antagonist across all media.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

Garrus Vakarian

The legend.

  • 12.06.2012 6:52 AM PDT

Garcia -blam!- Hotspur is probably my number 1.

I also like:
Bayonetta
Sam Gideon
Vincent Brooks
Travis Touchdown
Crimson Viper

Trussingdoor is pretty kewl. He fires lasers and doesn't afraid of anything.

All of these characters are wusses.

Where are the Garrus Vakarian and Urdnot Wrex options.

While Marcus Fenix comes close, Isaac Clarke is my favorite video game character of this generation.

I really don't know what made people like Portal so much. I didn't enjoy it much at all.

OT: Andrew Ryan is one of my favorite characters of all time. Very interesting.
