Everyone still starts on a level playing field.

If anything its more fair than ever. Would you rather spawn with an assault rifle and pistol and have to go up against the guy who has the BR and sniper rifle?

Dat illuminatic.

I really don't know. Now that 343i has made such big changes it will be hard to change back in Halo 5. It's not easy to just -blam!- on everything they have worked on and go back to the halo that the original community loved. Even though i want it, it's hard to think that it will happen. But i still hope it does.

Classic Halo isn't dead.
It's just missing in action.

As a lot of people have said, I didn't like Halo 4 because it has become far too CoD-esque. I do, like you, miss the classic level playing field Halo 1-3 brought to the table. It made things far more interesting. I mean, Halo 4 tried to make it a bit more level than CoD by only using the AR, BR, and DMR and their alien counterparts, but there are some distinct overpowering advantages of the DMR and AR. The supply drops are just annoying to me and wish it hadn't been implemented.

I honestly think 343 will listen to some of the cries of the community once their population drops even more. Then I think Halo 5 and 6 will be moving back to the classic Halo roots.

I hope I'm right.

It's alive as long as there are people playing Halo 3.

Yes, Halo 3 was the last of the golden era of classic Halo. Not that the new Halo is unplayable, it just will never come close to the fun and high calibre experience that was the original trilogy's multiplayer.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

As in a new Halo game that goes back to the core game mechanics of the original trilogy? No. From what I've seen, 343 Industries wants to make their Halo games as different from Bungie's as possible.

Classic Halo isn't dead yet. I would not be surprised to see an "Anniversary" game in 2014. Not necessarily H2:Anniversary but rather celebrating 10 years of Matchmaking with a best of Halo 2 and 3 maps...or do the right thing and make it a multiplayer only game and include all the maps from both games with updated graphics and online functionality. By that time it will be on the next-gen of consoles as well and it would basically give everyone what they wanted with H2 maps back online.

You have to be trolling. You simply HAVE to be.

Halo 3 is where the morons of the universe congregates.

I am thinking of an old story. "Three Billy Goats Gruff" (hint the troll dies at the end)

If you had an electron microscope, you still couldn't find the -blam!- I don't give.

God I hope not

No. Remember when you spawned with an assault rifle and it was pretty much garbage? At least now you can spawn with a very good weapon of your choosing.

RIP Logan ~B.B.

We know Destiny has some sort of multi-player shooting component. We also know the last game Bungie produced that wasn't under 343 management was Halo 3. I have high hopes Destiny will give me what I wanted from older Halo games. I can tolerate a lot of changes, all I ask is that it's balanced. No one ever spawns with something better than me because they played more. Everyone has an equal shot at power weapons. If they do that, that will be Halo enough for me.

Do you think classic Halo is dead forever?
Yep.

You know why? Because people keep thinking like this:

Yes. Yes I would. If the guy had to pick up both of those weapons from the field, and therefore had a limited abount of time with them(because of ammo and people will be focusing him), then what the hell is wrong with that?

R.I.P. good Halo.

It was virtually impossible to fight out of a spawn kill. I hated AR spawns and the fact they are gone in Halo 4 is a huge upside.

That's an issue with spawning.

Again: R.I.P. good Halo.

~:O>~~

Halo was never fun by itself... LAN'ing with friends was the only reason why Halo was cool, today's teens will never know what that truly feels like.

Thats what happens if you let the other team dominate the map all the way to your spawns. You shouldn't get rewarded with random power weapons and spawn weapon of your choice just because the other team is dominating.

I don't know, but I do know Halo 3 is definitely not classic.

Well that's certainly a subjective interpretation. By that logic, you're singling out Halo CE and 2 as the only classic games, and only one of them had multiplayer, with its best maps reappearing in 3 and Reach.

The other team should always have a chance to fight out of it. If the team who are dominating are good enough then they will continue to dominate even if the other team have more balanced weapons. Getting one good push and then getting cheap kills for the rest of the match does not equal a skillful game.

Hence why Team BRs was the only viable competitive slayer gametype in Halo 3.

Most Halo 3 maps had BRs right near the spawns. The example you give is the Pit, which has a sniper right at your base. If you were losing that badly on the pit, you deserved it. I agree, it probably wasn't fun for you, but that is the beauty of classic Halo games, the loser didn't get handouts to keep them from feeling bad. It made competition and wanting to win worthwhile.

The Snow Leopard's wisdom includes: Understanding one's shadow-side; trusting one's inner-self; agility; strength; the ability to stalk; understanding the power of silence.

What do you mean by "classic halo?" Halo has changed significantly between each release.

I actually had that exact thought in my mind when I was reading that.
