Subject: What is your opinion on loyalty and cheating?

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

I am referring to people who cheat in relationships and those who do not. Do you think it is right or wrong for people to be unfaithful in a relationship?

Been covering this is Psychology and I'm just interested in hearing other people's opinions on the matter.

I don't imagine you'll find anyone who thinnks that cheating is the right thing to do.

I suspect that even people who do it know it is is wrong.

What are the standards for cheating?
What kind of mods do you use?

I take it that an open poly relationship is not considered cheating

It's wrong if you get caught.

No as it is agreed to by all parties involved.

If I was in a relationship and was cheated on.

The heads of them both would adorn pikes.

Of course cheating is bad, it shows your lack of commitment in a relationship.

Do I think everybody who cheats is a god awful person? No. They're just not mature enough to handle a faithful relationship at the time.

I'd still be upset if another girl or guy was on my wife or girlfriend.

"I once knew a man who spent his entire life contemplating where we go after our death....it's a shame he realized it a second too late to tell anyone."

Cheaters receive no kindness from me. Disloyalty in a relationship sickens me to no end. If you wish to do things or be with another, just cut the ties with the person you're with first.

Then why would you agree to a Polygamous relationship? If you didn't then it would be cheating from your wife/girlfriend.

I'm not in one but I know people who are and say that they are cool with another dude -blam!- his wife or gf but I think deep down they hate it but can't find the way to admit it.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Unless you are in middle school or still stuck in your "YOLO" phase (I hate even thinking of that), then you should always take a relationship seriously.

Showing faithfulness is something that only that one person will be able to see. To me, faithfulness should come in a packaged deal with trust, honesty, being open with one another, and not having to ask or check to see if the other person's feelings are the same.

I have seen both boys and girls get cheated on and it is disgusting and depressing. The feeling of two people being bonded together and what they share is kept exclusively to each other is completely betrayed and forgotten about. If the idea of cheating crosses your mind and you plan on hooking up or being with someone else, even if it is only a one night thing or in the moment, you should at least end the relationship you are in beforehand and at least show that small glimmer of respect. If you decide otherwise and think you can get away with it, then you should be ashamed.

Before you make a decision like cheating, it's always a good idea to put yourself in the other person's shoes. How would you feel if you found out someone had been cheating on you and keeping it from you for so long? It would probably make you feel like everything you went through together was fake and for nothing.

I don't forgive cheaters nor do I associate myself with "friends" who cheat.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

Obviously it's wrong. Stick to your word and your promises.

I think it's against our instincts to be monogamous, but it's in our best interests as a society to have monogamous relationships. All the same, if you can't fight your instincts and stay loyal to your partner, don't have a committed partner. Pretty easy conclusion. Don't see the controversy.

I dont think Humans are monogamous to begin with. So in that case its unatural for us

Actually, Humans are meant to be Monogamous (not for any religious reasons we aren't discussing that) but because it benefits both sides of the species and helps ensure the survival of the offspring.

It helps ensure that the offspring a male raises is his own, and that the female and child is cared for.

Yes things have moved on since hunter-gatherer days but biologically humans have not moved past many of the basic instincts.

EDIT: This will tie in with what Foman has said, The Instincts of humans might push towards Polygamy but working as groups and forming societies has made it more beneficial to form monogamous relationships.

Also one of the reasons why Monogamy could be argued for as the norm, is because of Unfaithfulness leading to Murder/Suicides. It is supposedly an extreme expression of Jealousy to off the partner and then yourself.
