From my experience, bullying helps more people than it hurts.

Im actually friends with many classmates my friends and I bullied at one time.

Tell that to the thousands of dead bullying victims.

Do they die from the bully's hands?

99% of the time. No

They usually kill themselves. Whos fault is that? Who pulled the trigger?

Their fault for killing themselves. The bullies' faults for tormenting them when they know it causes mental anguish.

It's the bully's fault, 100%. And I have no sympathy for someone who directly causes a suicide.

and I have no sympathy for weak willed people who kill themselves. They are pathetic and selfish.

...bullies are just a normal part of life and growing up and facing adversity.

Very true. Many (I'd say most) kids today aren't learning how to face adversity at all. More so, they're being catered to and they learn that complaining and whining about their problems is the only way go about them. When actually, taking initiative and solving the problem yourself can be much more effective--as you did OP.

How about this: The bully pulled the mental trigger, the victim pulled the physical trigger.

So how do bullies learn how to face adversity? By picking on easy targets? How brave of them.

Guess what? When someone commits suicide, no other person is the direct cause.

Some ppl don't. Some people don't until they're much older. I'd bet that the people that aren't faced with much adversity aren't as well rounded as those who do.

And somehow he feels proud. Weird huh? It's almost like the challenges he faced and conquered built self esteem.

You needed some douche to tell you that? To change you? I was left with severe social anxiety disorder because of those -blam!-s. If I ever saw one again I'd beat them within an inch of their life.

ITT idiots trying to justify bullying.

So if someone suffers through four years of daily physical and psychological torture, then finally snaps, they're weak?

Someone who put up with a bully who constantly tormented them for sparse amusement is selfish?

You need to rethink your definitions.

For simple bullying? I personally harbor no ill will towards the guy who bullied me. If anything I would shake his hand and buy him a beer, he helped me become the man I am today and am happy he acted like a jerk, besides hes probably a normal guy now, same with your bullies. No need beating them up over the past.

Lets spin that around a bit, most of the kids that are catered to and learn that complaining and whining about problems is the only way to go about things often are the ones who become bullies. In most cases bullies are dumb kids who don't understand how life works and are pampered by their parents.

Now for my personal sad bully story.

I was in elementary school, this was the only time i was ever picked on because as i got older i grew big and had a natural look of a serial killer. So unlike most of you guys i don't know what it was like to be bullied in high school, just feared. Anyways, I was friends with this redhead girl and we had lunch together everyday. Then this one bald douche kid with earrings started spreading rumors that I liked her. She eventually stopped hanging around me and started hanging around this kid like the others girls. Now this douche kids personality was about as colorful as one of my 1st grade turds, but he had confidence and would insult and demean others to further gain this confidence. Because of this some of the more influenced girls would hang around him, further boosting his ego. Unfortunately this included my former friend, the redhead. It was at this young age i realized people like datdudeBV will prosper in a world like ours, while everyone worse off suffers, they will never notice or appreciate other people and will always be self absorbed. Who could blame them, in actuality they are probably the most pure of humans.

Sure ya would champ.

I do hate the fact that you have anxiety. I have it myself, and it makes for some terrible days.

Yes. The one who drove them to suicide is.

yes theyre selfish.

Unless they have no family or friends who would miss them and grieve. Ending your own life is VERY selfish.

And bullying someone just to gain a bit of amusement isn't?

of course it is. It was selfish of me to have fun at someone elses expense.

I enjoy halo for it's story and when I am in the mood, its gameplay. Reach was significantly worse then I expected but was still a great game (minus the european hitscan fiasco). I am sitting on a two mile wide fence on the subject of halo 4. Most of the things I like a technical aspects though and not story or game play. Plus I am slightly mad they took my elites from MP.

Bullies aren't nice but they exist as a social pressure to enhance the capability and productivity of the collective whole, it is only when the urge to prove others failings collapses into hatred that bullying becomes something monstrous.
