So in other words you gave into a dick.

Well done OP.

And somehow he feels proud. Weird huh? It's almost like the challenges he faced and conquered built self esteem.

What?

No. If he conquered the bully, he wouldn't have fundamentally changed himself because someone picked on him. He would have stood up to the bully, sure, but he would also have stayed true to who he was rather than playing sports just because some guy made him feel inferior for not playing sports. He gave in. Plain and simple.

This is all, of course, assuming that the OP was purely motivated to enact such a drastic lifestyle change because of one bully, which seems unlikely. I'm sure there were other factors at play.

You don't have to play sports to become a formidable individual. You don't have to stop playing video games either. (Since this is Bungie.net, though, I'm willing to bet OP never stopped playing video games. He's probably just too scared to admit it publicly.)

Be yourself, don't let people give you a hard time about it. Bam. Confidence.

That's literally all you need.

Working out is good because it's healthy and it makes you physically stronger. It's got nothing to do with confidence. (It will boost self-esteem in the short term, but that's different.) This thread isn't even about working out but since it got so much attention earlier, I felt like addressing it here.

Confidence.

You don't need to cave to a bully. You don't need to become the bully. OP gave into a dick probably because he figured, "Well, I'm getting picked on and this other guy isn't, so let me be just like this other guy and I guess people will stop picking on me."

of course it is. It was selfish of me to have fun at someone elses expense.

Regardless, suicide isn't selfish. If someone truly wants to die, it would be selfish of others to hold them back.

If I ever saw one again I'd beat them within an inch of their life.

Sure ya would champ.
Be condescending all you want lol. I don't care what I would have to hit them with I would honestly do it for what they have done to me. Like the OP they did change me over time...back then I was too nice to fight back.

I should of done it back then and I hate myself for not doing it. Of course I'd do it now if I saw them.

and I have no sympathy for weak willed people who kill themselves. They are pathetic and selfish.

So if someone suffers through four years of daily physical and psychological torture, then finally snaps, they're weak?

Someone who put up with a bully who constantly tormented them for sparse amusement is selfish?

You need to rethink your definitions.

If someone lets something happen constantly for four years, I'd place part of the blame on them. They should take the initiative somewhere along the line to try and solve their problem, whether that be getting help from an authority figure or doing something themselves.

So say you saw you old childhood bully walking down the street in your town. Youd grab a bat or a knife and use it on them?

They were just being stupid teenagers. Nearly killing them now when they are probably mature adults is just senseless and childish.

Just leave the past in the past bro no reason to hate. You should have stood up for yourself back then.

You needed some douche to tell you that? To change you? I was left with severe social anxiety disorder because of those -blam!-s. If I ever saw one again I'd beat them within an inch of their life.

ITT idiots trying to justify bullying.

For simple bullying? I personally harbor no ill will towards the guy who bullied me. If anything I would shake his hand and buy him a beer, he helped me become the man I am today and am happy he acted like a jerk, besides hes probably a normal guy now, same with your bullies. No need beating them up over the past.

Funny enough, I ran into my bully at a bar a few months ago. He's still an -blam!-. Obviously he's not as overt about it now because you can't get away with beating random people up when you're a legal adult, but he hasn't changed one bit.

Dude hasn't learned anything about life. He still gets the same ditzy girls who are attracted to his "bad boy" attitude and then loses them when he cheats on them. I had a long chat with one of his many ex-girlfriends and learned a lot about the kind of person he is.

In other words, Studness confirms that PSU is his alt.

Way to go.

More than likely. Consequence's aside I'd probably feel a lot better about myself if I did it.

Although the chances of me doing that are really slim now since I left London. Which so far has done me a lot of good.

Last person who tried to bully me got his ass kicked. I got some shoes and a hoodie and snuck up behind him and slammed the side of my fist into his temple and kept on walking. He stopped -blam!- with me right after.

In other words do not take anyone else's -blam!-. That is how you get far in school socially.

Yup. You caught me. Haha that would be impressive though if it were true. That kind of devotion and character switching would be masterful.
